He used his contacts to get a place in the Berjaya hotel lobby and there he had heard all he needed. It was a long shot, but this could be an opportunity to get a great job and, reading between the lines of Pablo Marzán’s statements, it was clear that his sponsor Alps Tankers was willing to invest whatever money was needed for the project. That could mean a good salary and even some stability. And no doubt, the work promised to be interesting.
All this had convinced Juan that it was a good idea to go there that morning and get an interview with the Captain. He knew that in all probability the crew on board Albatros was already complete, but such an opportunity could not be underestimated. Besides, it’s better than nothing, Juan thought with a grimace. At least I got a beer out of it.
