Chapter 6

Present

Lorraine

So, my first-born son Bray has been around asking questions, His dad has never told him the truth and I was glad that he never has because it is hard for me to try and get him to understand all the things I have done and all the people I have killed along the way. We have been lucky that we have never been caught, we have made sure that we covered all our tracks when we finish a kill for any one our clients and we make sure that don’t know who we are the contact us on a burner phone and we depose of it after every kill and payment is confirmed. We have been doing this for almost 15 years, I can’t believe how far we have come from when we were afraid, and we were too weak to defend ourselves against the people that we should have been able to trust the most in our lives. I think about how I felt after my first kill.

*Flashback 20 years ago*

Marcel drug me away from my uncle wake because I high on dope and he could tell everyone thought he was going to hurt me, and so did I he didn’t he took me home to mine and Star’s house and made me sober up and he took care of me. When I woke up from the drugs that I had put in my body he was there looking at me asking me to stop doing them before I got killed and tell him why I was behaving the way I told him that I couldn’t tell him but that I am feeling a lot better than I was and that was only using the drugs to help me cope with being away from him and that I needed him to be closer to me and I didn’t want to be away from him he told me that he had to finish the job in New York and that he would be back as soon as he was finished and that we would never have to be apart again he spent a few more days with me and Star.

Star spent a lot of time on the phone with Eli she had missed him so much and they were getting along so great she was planning a trip out to California for his birthday in a couple of weeks and told me that if Jaden was not back yet that she would fly me up to see him she did not want me to be alone and she told Jaden the same thing and he agreed and the  time with him flew by and the morning he left   I cried I didn’t want him to leave I was devastated but Star does what she does best took me on a shopping spree we went clothes shopping she wanted to get some clothes for her upcoming trip to California and so we getting dressed when all of sudden she started to feel sick and started to throw up she looked at me and said I need to go take a pregnancy test now and started to cry so we went to her Doctor’s office and they did a pregnancy test and it came back positive and they confirmed that she was about 6 weeks along and that is about how long it has been since she was raped by those guys so asked her doctor about information on an abortion that she didn’t want to keep the baby the doctor gave her name and address of a clinic as soon as we left the doctor’s office she called the clinic and they made her an appointment for that afternoon when we got to the clinic she looked me was like she can’t believe this that she has to kill off a live because she didn’t want Eli to know about her being raped I looked and nodded and told her it I understand making think about my son Bray it had been a few weeks since my uncle funeral and since I see him and I told her I wanted to see him soon she said that she could book us a ticket to go see him this weekend and if I wanted to stay up there while she was in California then she would book her flight from up there to California on Monday and go spent two weeks with Eli and come back to fly home with me and I told her that would be great I just would have to ask my brother.

So while she was having the abortion procedure done I picked up the phone and called my brother, I asked him if it was okay for me and Star to come up and visit this weekend and if it would be okay for me to stay up there for about 2 or 3 weeks because Star was going out of town and doesn’t want to leave me alone he told me that would be fine and that Bray would really enjoy that so I told him that we would be flying in Thursday and that we would see him then I told him I loved him and hung up and ass I did Star comes walking out and said let go I told her ok and she asked what I wanted to do I told her lets go shopping I’m going to be spending time with Bray for the next few weeks. She smiled and said let’s go by some clothes and toys for my nephew. We drove to the mall  and we went shopping, we bought so much s**t it wasn’t funning she bought herself and new suitcase and stuff for trip to see Eli she was excited when we got home we had ordered take out and she started to pack her suitcase and so did I when we finished packing she had looked at flights and she booked us for the Wednesday night flight to New Hampshire and she book her flight to California for Sunday afternoon . So, we were leaving to see my son in less than 24 hours. She told me that she wanted to go check on her mom before she left and that was about it, she was ready for this vacation so that morning we got up and dressed we went to the hospital where her mom was and the doctors told her that her mom’s health was getting worse she is now refusing to eat and she barley sleeping and asked her what did she want to do as a plan of action since she is the medical POA. She turned to me and told the Doctor to give her a minute she needed to make a phone call first and she stepped out and called Roman.

Star

So we were visiting my mom and her doctor pulls me aside and tells me that her health is getting worse and what I wanted them to do I wasn’t going to go all the way to California and knowing that she could die on me I would feel bad I had a few opinions but I needed to talk to my brother first so I walked into hall and dialed his number I know it was like 5 pm there hopefully he’ll pick up after the phone rang twice I hear my brothers voice I say Roman it’s me Star he said hey sis what is going on and thanks for the package I got it a few days ago. Your amazing, I love you, I told him I loved him back and started to tell him about our mother’s health he told me that he wouldn’t not be able to make out here for like 3 weeks if there was any way that we could have placed in a medical induce coma until he got there and I got back from California and if she doesn’t seem to do well after he gets there then we will prepare for the worse I told him that would be fine and that I will call him with his flight details next week and he said okay we hung up the phone. I walked to the nurse’s station and asked for the Doctor he came out and told me to come to his office Lorraine walked in there with me.

I explained to the doctor that my brother lives in London and can’t here for at least three weeks and that he wants to see mother before she passes away and that I have important business to attend too in California and will be gone for two week and if we could place her in a medical induce coma until I get back and when  I get back to see how she does until my brother get back he told me that would be fine and that they would go ahead and start he coma now and told the nurse to order the stuff and he took all my information down and said that he will contact me if there were any drastic changes to her. I went and I told my mom I loved her she was laying there asleep with shallow breathing like she was almost dead my heart started to hurt I wanted to leave that room, but I waited until they gave her the medicine and I kissed her, and we walked out. I got to the car, and I broke down.

Lorraine

We spent the afternoon getting manicure and pedicures done and Star had her hair dyed and styled and I got my dyed and cut it a little I was ready for some change, and I told myself that I will start by redoing my hair and my wardrobe. When we finished at the salon it was 5:30 we drove to the house to grab our suitcases and she had called for our ride to the airport we got home, and the ride pulled up about 5 minutes later we got in the car and rode to the airport. We finally made it to the airport we checked in for our flight that was starting to board at 7:15 and we were due to take off at 7:45 so when we got through security and got to our gate, we boarded the plane, and we were sitting in first class I was shocked I didn’t know what kind of tickets she had bought so we had it comfortable for the 2-hour flight to New Hampshire.

Ricky

So, I was a bit nervous to see my sister the last time I seen her she looked pretty f****d up and I don’t want that around Bray she told me to take care of him and keep him safe and I plan on doing that as long as she allows me to, But I know that she has been through a lot and know some of her demons were put to bed when Uncle Marcel was found dead, I know that she has still battled with Uncle Antonio but I don’t think it was as bad as Marcel. Her and Star should be arriving soon. We offered to pick them up from the airport but Star said she rented a car because she has to fly out early Sunday and didn’t want to have use have to wake up to take her to the airport, Bray did not want to go to bed until his Titi’s got here so we let him stay up Amelia wasn’t feeling well and I knew that I would have  to explain all of this is Lorraine so I was glad she wanted to come spend time with Bray.

They finally pulled up to the house around 11:15 I walked to the door and open it and seen they both had suitcases I went and I helped them carry them in the house I joked with them and asked them are they hiding a body them the started to laugh and said no just packed enough for a few weeks and we brought a little something for Bray and for you and Amelia and as soon as they got in the house Bray comes storming into the living rooms hugs his Aunt Star and then goes and give his Titi Lorraine the biggest hug in the world I sometime believe that the kids feels that he is actually her child and not ours but I promised Lorraine that we will tell him everything when he is older, I also wanted to tell her that all the genic test result came back fine and that he doesn’t having any underlying conditions. That he is doing great in school he love kindergarten, when they finally got to sit down Bray asked Lorraine if he could sleep with her tonight she looked at me and I nodded giving my approval she told him to go jump in her bed that she needed to talk to me a few more minutes and she would be right in she didn’t want him to cranky at school in the morning so he needed to go to bed he gave me and Star and kiss and told Lorraine to hurry up and ran to her room and was waiting he passed out within a few minutes Star popped her head in the room when she went to change into PJs when she came back out I told them both about Amelia and the cancer and told them that it is very aggressive that we are going to Chemo 5 days a week and she is doing her best by fighting it that we go and see the doctor next week to see if the tumor has shrunk any they both were shocked and Star told me there is anything she could do to let her know and Lorraine looked at me and said that she will to stay up here longer to help with Bray if I needed her too and I was happy because depending on what the doctor said next week I might need her to stay.
