Time seemed to stand still. I stared unblinking at the name glowing on Corwin's phone screen.

Aaron's voice blared through the speaker, sharp with impatience.
"Why aren't you saying anything? Is it done? Don't forget our deal. Once she's dead, that ten-million-dollar insurance payout clears, and we split it down the middle. That'll cover every last penny the company owes!"
