Chapter six: The plan

At the Harere Residence.

Emilia's entourage stopped and the bodyguard opened the door for her and she elegantly stepped down and made her way into the Mansion.

Inside the mansion, her little boy was discussing with her nanny on the things to get ready for him to start school. On seeing Emilia, the little boy rushed to her and embraced her, Emilia bent down a little and picked him up, kissing and adoring her little angel.

The little boy showed his mom the things he was discussing with the nanny to get for him to start school, Emilia looked at the list and nodded, one thing was sure this boy took his father high taste in things.

A sweet memory of her and Jayden flashed through her mind but it was soon replaced by the betrayal, the k********g and her near death experience and she clenched her hand.

A wince from her son, bought her back to reality and looking down she noticed the pale look of her son and his red wrist, she felt guilty and quickly apologized, the little boy didn't take it to heart and smiled.

Emilia told the Nanny to make sure he got the best of everything he needed and got up to go freshen up and work in her personal office upstairs.

Back at the Cole Enterprise

Jayden and Jessica were having an argument on why she came to the office with Abigail, but Jessica kept saying it's good for Abigail to know more about his father's company while Jayden kept saying that it's not yet time and that she should allow a kid to be a kid first.

In the midst of this argument, someone knocked on the door and Ryan entered, he smiled at his brother and went to sit down, Jayden looked at Jessica and she quietly excused herself, Jayden smiled because one thing he is certain is that no matter the situation, Jessica knows her to comport herself when the need arises.

When Jessica left, Ryan and Jayden start talking about business and how they want to be the company to work on the project with Harere enterprise, they shared ideas and Ryan was willing to do his best so that they could get the deal, as that would help their stock and also keep them at the top in business.

After an hour, Jayden and Ryan have drafted a way to get their proposal started if the Harere accepted their proposal after their evaluation, Jayden was certain because he knew he gave them the best option available.

As they were wrapping up, a knock came on the door and John secretly walked in hastily and told Jayden that Arnold Reed the son of Mr.Reed approached the Harere family and is offering a better offer than theirs, Jayden could not believe his ears because he was sure that for anyone to beat his offer, the person must have offered a prize below the costs.

That guy is always targeting us, I am sure he just wants to distract Miss Harere said Ryan.

John nodded and Jayden said, this is all because of Emilia Rivera, if she didn't give Mr Reed our confidential documents years back, who are the Reed's to compete with us.

Any new information about her whereabouts, he asked John

You can't find someone who doesn't want to be found replied John.

We shouldn't waste time discussing her, said Ryan, we should focus more on how to get the deal with the Harere enterprise.

That's true said Jayden, I will review the proposal and draft up a plan that will make little miss competent not say No.

The meeting ended and Ryan and John went back to their various office positions.

When Ryan was in his office, he called his secretary, who came in looking serious but on seeing Ryan turned to a jelly and become seductive and moved slowly to his office seat and started unbuttoning his shirts and started kissing him.

Suddenly, the door busted open and Grace was at the door speechless, the secretary jotted up, arranged her hair and ran out of the office while Ryan was on his seat with an unexplained expression.

Immediately the secretary left, Ryan asked Grace what he was doing at his office, Grace looked at him in disbelief and became speechless immediately.

After a while, she muttered something to the hearing of Ryan, she said “You don't even care to give an explanation”

Why should I? said Ryan.

When she didn't reply, he said , I hope you are not deceiving yourself to think that we are in a relationship, I am just helping you and you are no different from my secretary, and that means you should know that you are valuable until I decide otherwise.

A tear dropped out of Grace eyes but she wiped it with her handkerchief and proceeded to drop the file on his desk and told him that it was sent by Madam Jessica.

As she turned to leave, Ryan told her to never try the nonsense she did this morning after she complimented Miss Harere and reminded her to know her place.

Grace left the Ryan office sad, angry and with regrets.

Immediately she left the office, she remembered how she met Ryan at the club, how he secured a job for her at Cole enterprises and she smiled and said, I will do my best to be your best option available when you are ready to commit.

Meanwhile back at Ryan's office, he was staring at a picture and a smile curved up his lips and he said, this is my sure ticket.

Next Day

Jayden was in the car with Abygail, he was taking her to school. When he reached the school, he noticed Miss competent white Bentley leaving and wondered why she was there.

He dropped Abygail, admonished her to be a good kid and returned to his car and kindly asked the driver to take him to the office.

On their way, he received a call from John, his calm demeanor changed to an angry one and asked the driver to drive straight to Harere building.

When he got to the office, he saw Arnold's car leaving the premises and immediately got down and trotted towards the Harere building.

Once he was inside, the Receptionist ushered him in and after a while Emilia's secretary came and escorted him to Emilia office.

When he stepped into her office, he was impressed with the office setting. He was still admiring when he caught sight of Miss competent and was mesmerized by her beauty.

Emilia looked up and on seeing him smiled warmly and offered him a seat.

Why are you always on white, he asked Emilia.

Emilia's smile vanished for a moment before she regained posture and told him that it's just her fashion sense.

Jayden wondered how that was possible, it sounded weird that someone always wears white without a back up story but he decided to let it go and focus on why he came to the office.

Are you through with your evaluation, he asked Emilia.

You just handed the proposal yesterday, who uses barely twenty four hours to analyze a proposal of such magnitude.

Jayden paused for a while and responded with a smile. I came to know if you had any questions about the proposal.

Are you implying that Harere enterprise cannot analyze a proposal, Emilia asked

Nope, I don't mean that, Jayden quickly responded. I was just being curious he said.

Well, we will get back to you after we finish with our evaluation,Mr Cole.

Okay, Jayden responded and he went further to ask about Mr Harere.

He is great, he is swapped with work and can't come at the moment, Emilia responded.

Jayden wanted to keep the conversation going by asking about why she was at his daughter’s school but decided against that as it would look like he is stalking her.

You have got a great office, it looks ethereal said Jayden.

Thank you, Mr Cole, said Emilia.

I should probably go, I have a board meeting in the next thirty minutes,said Jayden and he stood up to go.

Emilia smiled and escorted him to the door.

Have a great day, Emilia said.

“You too” said Jayden

He turned to leave and stopped mid way and said “I was not stalking but whatever offer, the reed are offering, Cole enterprises can do better”

Emilia smiled and said, I will keep that in mind.

Jayden left but in a good mood, he was certain that Miss Competent was on his side.
