Chapter 13

Author's POV:

Anthony finds it is useless to stay in Miami anymore because he came here with a great hope to meet Elena and make her agree to marry him but his hope already broken, so he finds it better to go back home without being near to her as he will make him feel worse if he stays near her knowing that he never can be with her.

He also realized that there is no chance to get Elena in his life. Although he falls for her without even seeing her, but he doesn't want to force her to marry him when he understood very well that Elena is in love with someone, and she is very much loyal to the person whom she loves as she didn't even think twice to reject his proposal of the marriage.

The next morning, Anthony went back to California. But after arriving home, Chris insisted Anthony to tell him whether Elena agreed to marry him or not as Chris already knew that Anthony would discuss about the marriage proposal with her. Anthony decided not to say anything to Chris because he knew that Chris won't believe it or start making fun of this matter. Although Anthony was ignoring to say anything but Chris insisted on him more which make Anthony say about the rejection which he got from Elena.

"Are you serious? I mean she really rejects you. It literally sounds impossible. I can't believe that you came back being rejected from a girl when until now girls are always tried to worship you and you rejected them", Chris said sarcastically to tease Anthony but Anthony remains silent as he has nothing left to say in this case.

"Please tell me it isn't real. You're lying to me... Right", Chris asked suspiciously which annoyed Anthony as Chris was making him think about the rejection more which was really hurting him.

"It's true... Now get out from my face", Anthony said annoyingly but Chris wasn't ready to leave him so soon without asking about this matter more as he was being interested in this although he was feeling bad seeing Anthony upset for the rejection of Elena.

"Listen... I know that you're heartbroken right at the moment. But you know, you will feel light if you try to talk about this with someone", Anthony gives Chris a surprised look as he doesn't understand about whom Chris suggesting to talk about this.

"I mean, someone like me. Sometimes I really feel how blessed you are to have a brother like me who is trying to be your side when for the first time you got rejected by a girl. You must need to talk with me in detail about it if you want to feel better", Chris said sounding serious which makes Anthony chuckle as he never finds Chris this much interested in his matter. Anthony becomes really curious seeing the sudden interest of Chris although he slightly can guess what is the real reason behind this.

"Why you start being so nosy about this matter? Are you really interested in this rejection or your interest is on Elena? You can directly tell that you want to hear about her, don't you?", Anthony questioned playfully which left Chris silent. After seeing Chris face reaction, Anthony realized that his assumption was right as Chris silence was proving that he was only interested to know about Elena.

"Obviously I'm interested in that girl named Elena. I mean who is not going to be interest about her who rejects the handsome billionaire Anthony Richard's marriage proposal when girls literally beg you just to look at them", Chris sounds full of surprises it's still unbelievable for him that his brother got rejected by a girl.

"I want to hear what so different about her that makes her reject a guy like you when any girl will agree to marry you without thinking twice. Even I still remembered the daughter of one of our business partner Mr. Watson and his daughter wasn't less than a princess who falls in love with you but you rejected her without any reason", Chris continued as Anthony was silent without saying anything but this time he can't remain silent when Chris was comparing Elena with some other girl who doesn't deserve their second attention.

"Yeah... She was beautiful and rich, but she is indeed a slut", Anthony said sounding furious which makes Chris remind something.

"Right... She was really good in bed. I still remember how skillfully she rocked me the whole night. Now I really start willing to f**k her again... I mean I start missing that princess slut", Chris said while losing in his thought but Anthony left shocked after hearing him.

"Did you really sleep with her? How could you do that?", Anthony sounds shocked which makes Chris curious as he can't understand why Anthony was being so shocked.

"Come on, Anthony..... After getting rejected, she was seeming hurt, lonely, and desperate. And I helped her to forget about your rejection. But you're ungrateful, you yet not thanked me for such a huge favor", Chris said sarcastically but Anthony wasn't finding it funny at all rather he was feeling disgusted although it wasn't something new about Chris.

"Anyway... You forced me to bring that girl in this matter of Elena. And in the case of Elena, what is making you so sure that she isn't indeed a slut like the princess slut. Elena must......", Anthony interrupts as Chris dirty assumption about Elena, was really making him furious. Anthony began to hate the way of Chris thinking about Elena when he believes that she is one of the purest and innocent girls he has ever met in his life which makes him fall in love with her the second he saw her yesterday.

"Now you're getting on my nerves. Get out of my sight, Chris. I'm not willing to hear a single bad word about the girl whom you don't even know", Anthony said, clenching his jaw in anger. But Chris smiled playfully without even regretting what he said.

"Why are you smiling like a fool?", Anthony questioned being annoyed.

"What happened to you, Anthony? Why you're showing your anger on me? I'm just trying to be your side at this moment, when you're going through a heartbreak. So tell me what happened and feel relief", Chris said which left Anthony confused as he already said about the rejection, and he couldn't figure out what else Chris is willing to hear from him about this matter.

"Tell you what!! I already told you what happened. There is nothing else to say", Anthony frown hard in confusion.

"You yet not tell me the reason for the rejection. There must be a fruitful reason to her for rejecting you. What is this?", Chris seemed serious all of a sudden which make Anthony more curious. Somehow Anthony understands this time that it wasn't only Chris's interest rather there must something else which was making him eager to talk about this matter.

"Why you even asking that? What's the catch?", Anthony asked suspiciously which make Chris laugh.

"You're being away more suspicious, Anthony. I'm just doing the job of a brother. I want you to share your pain with me and feel better. So tell me, what's the reason behind the rejection?", Although Chris asked while laughing but the eagerness in Chris's eyes to know the reason caught Anthony's attention.

Anthony decided to tell Chris about the reason as he was asking so much but the next second he changed his mind when he realized he has no right to discuss other personal matters with his brother. Anthony also reminds that Elena wasn't willing to tell him the real reason at first, but after a lot of hesitation and finding no other way, she finally forced herself to tell him that she loves someone else.

He finds it inappropriate to tell this to Chris without Elena's permission as it will be considered a betrayal of the trust that Elena has for him as she must not want to him to share the reason with his brother or someone else.

"Are you still keeping your mouth shut without telling me the reason? What that girl did to you, Anthony? Why are you being so rude with me?", Chris sounds disappointed but Anthony didn't pay any heed to him as he finds it better to keep silent without arguing with Chris.

"Okay... If you're curious about why I'm being so curious about the reason then I want to say that I have a right to know that", Chris said to make Anthony understands but Anthony chuckle as he knew that Chris was trying to find a stupid excuse to tell.

"It isn't funny rather I'm being honest. I don't think you know about this, that I also started willing to marry Elena when her father gave you the proposal to marry her", Anthony's mouth fell open as it was literally unexpected for him to hear from Chris. He never even imagined that his brother would be interest to marry the girl he was willing to marry. Besides, it was really weird for Anthony to hear the marriage thing from Chris as he hardly believes that Chris is ready to marry and settle with one girl for the rest of his life.

"You're looking at me like you saw a ghost. Did I say something wrong?", Anthony come back in his sense after hearing Chris. But he was still seeming pretty much shocked.

"If you wondering that I'm jealous then I agree because I decided to be jealous for the first time as until now, you were always jealous of me. And honestly, being jealous of you really feels strange. Anyway.... I've been honest with you. Now it's your turn to tell me the reason of rejection", Chris again asked eagerly.

"Bu...But why were you even willing to marry Elena?", Anthony asked but Chris started feeling frustrated and angry as Anthony still refusing to tell him what he is asking him.

"I already told you that I was jealous. When Mr. Martinez gives you the proposal of marriage, I feel confused thinking that why not me when I could be his first choice for his daughter. Then I thought he chose you as you're the big brother. But when I asked him about why he doesn't want me to marry her daughter. His reply was utterly funny", Chris said reminding his conversation with Elena's dad when he was alive. At the same time, Anthony started being more surprised as he hasn't a single idea about this until now.

"He said that one day he saw me to make out with my assistant which he dislikes about me. And honestly, it wasn't surprising for me rather he surprised me when he rejects to sell his daughter to me. I offered him a huge amount of money in exchange for his daughter, Elena but he instantly rejects my offer and called me a bastard. I yet not understand that how he could......", Anthony interrupts without letting him continue.

"You di...did what!!! You tried to buy Elena from her father", It was impossible for Anthony to believe that he is hearing such type of things from his brother as he never finds Chris to act and think in this way. Anthony really feel disappointed to see the sudden change of Chris's behavior as he doesn't even hesitate to think to buy a girl from his father in exchange for money.

"Yeah... I know for you, it sounds bitter as you have a weakness for the girl but I think I don't need to hide it from you anymore as you already failed to get the girl", Chris said, pretending like it's no big deal for him to buy a girl from her dad.

"Chris... You're sounding ridiculous. I'm not willing to hear a single word from you anymore. Just get the hell out from here and leave me alone... Please", Anthony said, turning his face from Chris because for the first time he was feeling disgusted by his brother.

"Are you willing to be mad at me for this?", Chris asked curiously when Anthony was refusing to talk with him anymore.

"Oh, God!!! I can't believe this. The girl already makes you turn your face from me. And if she had already been in our life then until now, we must start fighting with each other because of her. How dangerous girl she is!!!", Chris started saying sarcastically which irritated Anthony more.

"Are you going to leave me alone or you want me to make you leave?", Anthony asked being serious.

"Why are you being so stubborn? Just tell me what I asked then, I will leave you alone", Chris again demand as he wasn't willing to leave without knowing the reason for Elena's rejection.

"If you don't leave me alone, I will call mom and tell her that her darling little son was willing to buy a girl from his dad when she always taught you to respect women but here you are. I don't think that mom will be happy after hearing that", Anthony said as he was sure that it will make Chris leave him alone. And he was right because after hearing what Anthony just said, the color of Chris's face faded away.

"Are you kidding me... Right", Chris said with a forced smile on his face but he was sounding worried because he doesn't want her mom to hear this as Chris knows that it will make her mom sad which he doesn't want.

"Try me", Anthony said playfully.

"Anthony... Just tell me what....", Chris stopped as Anthony already started calling their mom.

"Okay, fine... I'm leaving you alone. You don't need to act like a freaking child", Chris said furiously and start leaving from there but before leaving he again stopped to tell something to Anthony.

"You know what Anthony, you failed to get the girl, and it was your biggest stupidity to accept her rejection and as usual, be the good guy. But a little advice as a brother, if I were you then I would leave her no choice to reject me", Chris said with a playful smile on his face. Although Anthony understands what Chris trying to mean but he pretends like he didn't even hear what he said.
