Chapter 10

Elena's POV:

"But why he wants to meet with me? Does he want to tell me something about business?", I asked Lizzie annoyingly and I have no desire to get involved in my dad's business which he left incomplete. I have not a single experience with business-related activities and I must have no answer if he asked anything about this business things.

"I don't know. He just said to me that he wants to talk with you. So, I asked him to wait for you if he wants to talk, and surprisingly, he is still waiting for you. Maybe he wants to tell you something important", Lizzie said confusedly which only proves she also has no idea about what Mr. Richards wants to talk with me. I decided to go to him and talk but the next second, I changed my mind as I was feeling weird to talk with an unknown person all of a sudden.

"Why not you go there and talk to him, Lizzie? You know, I'm not used to talking to business people. So, it would be better if you go instead of me", I suggest, but she refused directly as she wasn't agree with me. I thought it would be better if she goes because she has many more ideas about my dad's business than me for which she can easily make a business conversation with Mr. Richards.

"Are you dumb or something? He wants to meet with you not me. And I don't think that he wants to talk about business outside the cemetery. He must want to talk about you", Lizzie said, making me curious.

"Was he in the church at the time of the funeral?", I again asked confusedly which make Lizzie furious on me.

"Yeah... He was. And why are you asking so many questions? You simply can go there and talk with him", Lizzie sounds annoyed by my continuous questions which I was asking out of confusion. Honestly, I really don't want to involve myself in dad's business matters, and act like a dumb in front of an unknown person.

"You know what, I don't want to meet with him or talk with him. If you want then, you can go and talk to him. I have to go home as I have other more important things to do", I said and started going to my car but Lizzie stopped me.

"He is waiting for you for one hour, and you're leaving without saying a hello. Why are you showing so much attitude, Elena? Besides, what he will think if he realizes that you leave without meeting him?", I feel bad for acting this way, but I really not willing to meet anyone whom I don't know, and still I'm thinking that it would be a lot better if I leave without meeting him although it does not seem pleasant.

"Lizzie... I have to go somewhere. So, I think I need to leave here", I said, but Lizzie stopped me again and started saying the same thing that it will be an insult for Mr. Richards if I leave without meeting him and I also knew that she was right.

Finding no other way, I decided to go to him and talk about whatever he wants to talk with me. I told Lizzie to wait for me in the car until I come back.

I went nears the car and saw a tall figure of a man who was outside and leaning in the car. He was wearing a black suit which was obvious as he came to join a funeral. But I wasn't able to see his face because he turned on the other side, and I was sure that he doesn't notice my presence yet. He was also talking with someone on the phone and for a second, I decided to leave without disturbing him but I remind about Lizzie's word which stopped me from leaving.

I take a few steps near him so that he can hear my footsteps and turned around. But he didn't as he was talking on the phone, forgetting about the world.

I cleared my throat to gain his attention, and this time thankfully, he turned around. But my eyes fixed on his face as soon as he turned to me.

I start reading every feature of his face which was seeming way more perfect and flawless. Although he was wearing black shades, but still I can guess how gorgeous his eyes can be and I can't remember when the last time, I saw such a handsome man with so much perfection. My eyes traveled on his bare chest which was quite exposed as he left some buttons of his shirt open.

I really forget how shamelessly I was gazing on him without my knowing. But when I realized, I instantly shift my gaze away from him and start feeling ashamed for my stupidity.

"I will call you later, Chris.....", I heard him saying in his masculine and deep voice while I was looking away, and I realized that he dismissed the call after saying that.

I lost my courage to look at him again as I become nervous, thinking that what he thought when he caught me gazing at him like a shameless. I was feeling that it was a great mistake to come here by listening to Lizzie otherwise I wouldn't face such an embarrassment.

Surprisingly, Mr. Richards wasn't saying anything which was making me feel weird because I thought that my stupidity make him speechless. Feeling ashamed, I started to leave from there, but he stopped me by holding my wrist and his touch gives me an unknown shiver throughout my whole body.

This time I can't stop myself to look at him as I was confused. As soon as I look at him, he leaves my wrist.

"I...I... I'm sorry. I shouldn't have touch you all of a sudden. I'm really sorry", I become surprised to hear the unexpected apology. And again, without saying anything, I remain to look at him because it was really hard to concentrate on something else when such a handsome man was standing in front of me. But thankfully, this time I didn't lose on him again like before.

"It's absolutely fine. You don't need to apologize", I said as I know that his touch wasn't inappropriate rather he was trying to stop me when I was leaving without even talking with him by proving myself an arrogant. I thought to say sorry as he was waiting for me for one hour.

"I think I need to say sorry as I make you wait for me. You need to leave without waiting for me", I said politely by hiding the nervousness which I was feeling that time because I usually not used to talk with such a handsome guy. But after hearing me, he said nothing rather smiled slightly which also can take anyone's breath away.

"I didn't mind at all. I think it was worthy enough to wait for you", he said and I really don't understand what he means but I act like I understand.

"Anyway... I'm Anthony Richards", he said, offering his hand, and with the other hand, he started to take off his shades which make me excited as I was really waiting to see his eyes although I don't know the reason.

"Hello, I'm......", I was going to tell my name while shaking his hand with a smile but stopped in the middle as his eyes caught my attention as soon as he takes off his shades by reveling a familiar pair of rare green eyes just like my Stefan and his eyes were glistening by the ray of the sun of last afternoon. The more I look at his eyes the more my heartbeat increased although I knew that Stefan is not the only one who has green eyes like this man, but after Stefan, I didn't meet anyone except him with the same colored eyes which were reminding me only about Stefan.

I was looking at his eyes like a fool while holding his hand, forgetting what may he think.

"I already know your name. You're Elena Martinez, right", I back into reality after hearing his voice, and this time I was sure that he must found me staring at him if he didn't notice the first time. But I still not shifting my gaze from his eyes as I was wishing to keep look at those gorgeous eyes.

"Oh... I'm sorry, Mr. Richards. I actually....", I said when I realized, that I was still holding his hand and I don't know what to say as reason because he must know the reason that I become lost after seeing his eyes.

"You don't need to say sorry frequently, Elena", I become surprised after hearing my name from his mouth as it was really good to hear. But I brushed off my surprise and decided to explain to him why I was looking at his eyes because I don't want him to think something weird about me.

"You know... Your eyes...I mean your eyes are very gorgeous", he blushed after hearing my compliment.

"And it really reminds me about someone", I regret saying this when I saw the smile on his face faded away.

"Really..... Then it must be my brother, Chris. Did you meet Chris before?", He asked me sounding curious and I also become confused as I can't figure out about whom he is talking when I was talking about Stefan.

"Ch... Chris...Who is he?", I asked curiously.

"You just said that my eyes remind you about someone and I thought it might be my brother Chris as he has the same eyes as mine", he said, and I was regretting making so much confusion just because I find someone with the same colored eyes like Stefan.

"No....No... I don't even know your brother. I was talking to someone else. Please forget it. Anyway... It's nice to meet you, Mr. Richards", I said to change the topic, and I was praying inside that he doesn't start any business conversation as he must find me more stupid if he asks me something about business.

"So...How are you doing?", He asked with a sad expression, and I don't know why he become sad all of a sudden. The next second, I realized that he must be asking me about my feeling of losing my dad which literally vanished from my mind after meeting with him.

"Fine... Honestly, I really don't know how to explain my feelings which I'm going through recently", I replied honestly as I was also confused about my different emotions for losing my dad all of a sudden.

"Yeah... I understand that at the time, you left the church without completing your speech. It might be hard for you to give a speech as you still cannot accept your dad died, right", he said with sorrow in his eyes, and he was seeming really sorry for me as I lose my father.

"That's right, but I am also not that much upset for losing my dad. You know, one day or another he would die and it isn't new to me to lose my close people as I'm used to it", I said as I very much experienced losing the peoples whom I love the most.

"I make you feel strange about me, aren't I?", I asked after finding him looking at me curiously.

"Do you want to have a cup of coffee with me if you have time?", He asked politely but honestly, I thought that he may go to feel disgust about me after hearing my harsh words about the death of my dad.
