When I saw my little mate screaming in pain like that I got weak because I could fell that she felt thanks to the mate bond.

She was in so much pain and I couldn’t do anything to help her. I am a useless mate.

Thankfully she was able to withstand the pain so I took my little mate in my hands and quickly took her to my room I didn’t know what else to do.There’s no known way to stop the pain of a transition so I was helpless and I hated the feeling. When she woke up looking at me with those big beautiful eyes of hers and touching me like she knew I needed her touch I couldn’t help, I finally did what I’ve wanted to do from the first time I saw her; I kissed her and she tasted heavenly.

She immediately kissed me back with the same urgency as did. I kissed her with a hunger that matched my desire and also communicated how glad I was that she was here with me.

Just that simple kiss left me with a hard on I had to put her on my lap to hide it from everyone and when she felt it she looked so cute all flushed from the kiss.

Greta informing us that there wasn’t anything we could do to stop Malaika transitioning wasn’t as much as shock to anyone of us really but we all new after she withstood the first wave like a champ that we’d have to accept her transition.

I somehow forgot to explain to her what a Luna is amidst all the chaos and when she asked me I explained it all to her with a sense of pride.

She smiled at every word I said which relieved me because I honestly thought I’d scare her away with how fast things would be moving. I saved the part about me marking her, us completing the mating process and how she would need to move in with me earliest for later.

I made up my mind to move at Malaika’s pace considering this was all new to her and she’d need time to adjust. Yes it will be so much torture for me and my wolf but our mate comes first.

She lay there eyes closed like she was taking it all in. And I hated having to bring it up but I had to

“The time for your transition is fast approaching, you will be turning at the same time that you were bitten yesterday. And also for the first transition you will have to feed on a live human.” Her eyes shot open after I said the last part

“What do you mean? I thought you said I can survive on animal blood” she said in disbelief

“Baby, yes you can survive off animal blood later on but you will have a uncontrollable thirst for fresh human blood when you first transition, believe me I’m not happy about it either but you will need to feed from a human if you want to survive your first day as a vampire.”

“I can’t do it Kaden, I can’t kill a person” she said in a almost sobbing voice holding on to both my hands shaking

“I’d rather die than have to kill to survive” she said sternly removing her hands from mine

It was my turn to panic. My wolf was in pain after hearing what she said

“Malaika, if you die I will die with you” I told her my voice almost breaking. I couldn’t think of a life without my mate even if I’d just found her.

I loved her even before I knew her. I needed her to survive. I needed her by my side forever.

She looked at me with tears in her eyes

“You don’t need to kill the person you feed from tonight baby and don’t worry; they won’t turn considering you’re not fully a vampire yet.

All you have to do is feed and then let them go. But it will take lots of restraint as your primal instincts will kick in. You will need to be able to control yourself or you will lose yourself. Just know that I will be there every step of the way.”

“Okay” She said in not more than a whisper

“Okay what baby?”

“Okay I will feed to survive, but the person has to be willing , I don’t want to go hunting people to feed on like some animal” she said

“Anything for you.

We have many human allies who I’m sure will be willing to even give their lives if need be; as long as you never talk about dying again” I said cupping her face

“Will it hurt? The transition I mean” she said with pleading eyes

“I can’t lie to you, it will hurt maybe even more than the previous wave but just like the one before it will all be over even before you know it. And I’ll be with you the whole time.

She winced at my statement, then quickly masked it with a small smile

“Well at least I’ll get to eat after even it’ll just be blood” she said with a soft chuckle “You’ve got this Malaika, you’re one hell of a strong woman and will make an even a stronger Luna this I’m sure of” I told her matter of factly

“Have you always talked like a motivational speaker?” She asked giggling

“Or is that side of you only for me?”

“Comes with the Alpha genes baby” I said with a smirk and she laughed.

I felt like a weight had been lifted when I heard her beautiful laugh, it was my first time hearing her laugh and it was the most beautiful laugh I’ve ever heard.

Damn! I am so smitten I can’t even deny it

“I have another question; before when I was in pain I heard you screaming and even saw it in your eyes after I opened my eyes, were you in pain as well? Was it because of me? Does it have something to do with the Mate thing?” She asked without taking a break

“Yes to everything. Because the bond is so strong mates especially wolf to wolf are able to feel each other’s pain, we’re even able to feel the pain of betrayal when our mate cheats. We’re that intensely connected to each other. I don’t know how that will work for us as you’re about to become a vampire but we’ll find out soon enough won’t we?” I told her honestly

“Uh so this thing really forces you together huh?”

“Yes my Luna you’re stuck with me for life!”

“That pull you feel towards me, that feeling in the pit of your stomach whenever I’m near you, that urge to get closer to me that you’re feeling right now, the sparks when Our skin touches,” I said tracing the skin on her neck oh so slowly “it will only get worse and worse till you can’t take it, till we give in, till we’re completely mated if you know what I mean” I said with a seductive smirk

I watched her shudder from my touch and bite he bottom lip. God this woman will be the death of me. A growl escaped my mouth at the sight in front of me. I quickly moved away from her if I stayed that close I wasn’t gonna be able to control the beast in me threatening to take over.

“We need to get you ready for the transition” I said showing Laika to the door breaking her from the trance she was in. She blushed following my lead.

When Kaden was telling me about how the attraction I felt towards him would only get stronger I felt like my body was suddenly being reminded of something it had forgotten.

I got lost in the way his lips were moving, his face suddenly seemed like the most interesting thing I’d ever looked at, I remembered the taste of his oh so soft lips on my mouth and how I was able to make his body react like that and I had to bite my lower lip to stop a moan that was threatening to escape my mouth.

I was both glad and disappointed when Kaden pulled away seeming to try to restrain himself from acting on his desires pulling me out of the trance I was in and right back into the reality of things which I really dreaded.

He led me out to the back of the house, where there was a clearing and we walked to the woods just past and right in the middle was a building that looked like a prison in those Prison breaking movies, the big brown doors creaked open revealing a dark passage that gave me the creeps. I was thankful Kaden was with me so I feared nothing.

We passed a few doors where I saw some men sparing and then he led me into a room with titanium walls.on the wall where door was I saw chains and weapons I had never seen before not even in movies....Right in the middle of it was something like a holding cell with thick metal bars.A chill ran down my spine at the thought of possibly being in a room where people where tortured or held captive.

Kaden sensed my apprehensiveness and squeeze my hand tightly.

He moved to my front and told me because I’d be a danger to myself and anyone around while transitioning I needed to stay in the cell; he told me he’d only allow it if I was okay with it and I nodded trusting him completely.

I walked into the metal cage of a cell and One of the guards locked it. Kaden came and held my hands through the natal bars and kissed my hands oh so gently.

“I’m scared” I admitted to him leaning my forehead against his

“I know baby, just know I’m here with you and will not let anything bad happen to you. I swear it. Kyle and Mitch managed to find someone willing to let you feed on them and they will be here with her soon” in a few minutes you’ll start feeling the transition kicking and the thirst will make you lose sense of everything but just hold on to that humanity in you, hold on to my voice and we’ll be done with this in no time”

I wanted to speak when I suddenly felt nauseated, I moved back from Kaden throwing up the little food I had in my stomach. My fingers began to shake and my head was pounding.

“Why is it already happening? She has a few minutes” I heard Kaden scream to The triplets who’d somehow come in the room as well

“We can’t predict nature Alpha, maybe her body is ready to transition already” one of the girls said

I fell to the ground after a wave of pain hit my chest once again. I began to scream banging my head on the bars like a maniac

“Get me out of here!” I screamed

Something was crawling on my skin, I began to scratch on it making it bleed

“Please make it stop!!!! I got up looking at Kaden with pleading eyes “baby please let me out, I promise I’m fine now, please get me out of here Ahhh!” My bones were cracking

He stood there looking at me, anguish evident in his eyes from not being able to help me

My wolf was pacing around. An emotional mess, we couldn’t take the pain our Mate was going through. Fighting with myself I watched helplessly as her body ripped itself apart to make room for the changes being a vampire brought.

She had a look on her face like she wasn’t the same person, she seemed possessed

“Please Kaden let me out, I cant breathe. I need water please. Please!!!!! Help me” she said pleading I was tempted to open the cage and let her out but I knew better so I stayed rooted on my spot

She continued violently hitting her body against the bars and the ground till

Snap! Her neck went

The room went quiet

“Malaika?”I called to her slowly walking to her

“Alpha stay away” snow warned

“Hahahahaha” She slowly got up laughing hysterically,

“Blood baby. I need blood.” f*****g get me out of here! She screamed turning to face us

Her eyes kept switching from red to black with black veins around them

She fell on her knees crying in pain again, I couldn’t take it. I walked out of there to cool myself and my wolf down. I mind linked Kyle to find out how far he and Mitch were with the girl Laika was supposed to feed from

“We’re about 20 minutes away Alpha we’ll be there soon just hold on till we get there” Kyle replied assuring

“Hurry the f**k up! If she doesn’t feed soon she’ll die goddamn it” I yelled not hearing any excuses

I paced around outside while I heard my mate scream in the other room till I couldn’t take it anymore.

I barged inside

“GET OUT ALL OF YOU” I commanded in my Alpha voice

The oracles looked at me knowingly and left with the guards leaving me alone with my mate. She was now sitting in a corner saying words I couldn’t understand with her knees to her face rocking back and forth.

I walked to the cell and opened it, her eyes shot up when she sensed me and was next to me immediately with her hands violently around my neck. I didn’t fight her.

“Feed” I said to her

She smelt my neck inhaling my scent again and her grip loosened. she was about to move back when I caught her wrist showing her my neck to drink from.

She seemed hesitant at first but slowly moved closer and within a few seconds I felt her sharp canines pierce my neck, it hurt for just a second then was replaced with pure pleasure...
