The weekend had come and gone. Fortunately, Saturday was a bye week for Vermillion’s football team, so there was no game either at home or away. The news outlets had swarmed over the school, talking to the administration, the assistant coaches, and the players. Steve and his family had kept reporters at bay, telling them Jase was recovering and couldn’t talk.
