I blink my eyes as the pain in my chest slowly fades into an ache. Looking around, I see that I’m no longer beneath the rubble in the cavern. I barely got to another opening before the ceiling came down since I couldn’t flash out of the cave. Contrary to what anyone would think, it takes a lot of power to flash from one place to another. Only Lucifer can do it because he also holds the power of hell. Thankfully, I could get Valentina out of the chamber before it collapsed. However, I’m sure she probably thinks that I am dead. Guilt overwhelms me at my failure to destroy the queen.
