*Sam* I’m aware of the train slowing down as the locomotive loudly bellows black smoke into the sky, the Philadelphia station visible in the distance. Blinking, I gather my wits and sit up straighter, only to wince at the pain in my leg from the change of position. I’m not looking forward to a wagon ride again, but that’s what pulls up near the train to take us into the city to the hospital. We load up and depart, and at least it’s not as bumpy this time since the roads are in better shape. As usual, Nevaeh busies herself with caring for the men along the way. I wish she’d just relax for once and get some food and rest. I have no idea how she’s kept going for this long in these conditions. Once at the hospital, I lose sight of her as the staff begins to take us inside. “I’m fine,”
