I stood there like a fool, the moment her question popped up I had no idea what to say, my heart dropped into my stomach and now all I felt was shame. I had just embarrassed my own friend in front of everyone, and now all eyes were on me. The shame felt like a new dress– tight and heavy with a bridal shawl.
