There was a soft knock on the door that pulled me out of my thoughts.
“Miss, breakfast is ready. You may come. Here is a dress… Prince Dominic ordered it for you.”
For a moment, I didn’t move.
Prince… Domenic?
The words echoed in my mind as I slowly took the dress from her hands. It was just a simple linen summer dress, light and effortless, with thin straps resting gently on my shoulders. Nothing too much—just natural, soft, and easy to wear.
I got dressed in silence, my thoughts racing.
A prince? He’s a prince?
I let my hair fall freely down my back, leaving it natural.
When I stepped outside the room, the woman was already waiting. Without saying anything, I followed her.
As we walked down the long corridor, I finally took in the surrounding place.
The house was enormous.
Not modern. Not cold.
It felt old, timeless… like a Gothic castle. High ceilings stretched above me, detailed and heavy, while dark wood and antique furniture gave the place a quiet, intimidating elegance. Every step echoed softly through the halls.
This place didn’t just look rich.
It felt powerful.
And something about it made my chest tighten.
My mind wouldn’t stop.
He’s a prince…
“Oh God…” I whispered under my breath.
We reached the bottom of a grand staircase, and the woman turned to me with a polite expression.
“Good morning, Miss Rose. Did you sleep well?”
I blinked, still distracted, barely processing her words.
Because nothing about this felt normal anymore.
And neither was he.
Yes… I slept well,” I said, keeping my tone polite. “But I have to leave. I have a meeting for one of my paintings. I need to go. Thank you for everything.”
“I will accompany you to the studio, miss,” the bodyguard said.
As we walked further inside, I looked at him more closely—and then I recognized him.
It was him.
The same bodyguard who had handed me the money the other day.
“Oh… it’s you,” I said, my voice sharpening. “You’re the one who gave me money for ‘disturbing’ me.”
“Yes,” he replied calmly.
My jaw tightened.
And then I saw him.
Prince Domenic.
Without thinking, I stepped closer, my eyes locking onto his. There was something about him—calm, controlled, like he owned the entire room… like nothing could touch him.
I crossed my arms slightly and tilted my head, a faint ironic smile playing on my lips.
“So tell me,” I said, my tone light but cutting, “Do you always apologize with money, Prince Dominic?”
“Miss Rose,” he said coldly, “You girls love money, and you would do anything for it.”
For a second, everything inside me went silent, and then my hand moved before I could stop it. The sound of the slap echoed sharply in the room as I hit him, my anger exploding all at once. I didn’t wait for a reaction; I turned immediately and ran out of the villa, my heart pounding hard in my chest.
The moment I stepped outside, I slowed down, trying to catch my breath, but what I saw made me stop completely. There was nothing around me except the beach stretching endlessly ahead, the sound of the waves filling the silence. There were no people, no cars, no signs of life, just the sea and the wind.
I started walking, confused and disoriented, looking around as I tried to understand where I was. As I moved further, I noticed that the villa was completely surrounded by tall, dense trees, enclosing the place like a barrier. It felt isolated, cut off from everything else, like a place hidden from the world.
I turned back slowly, a strange feeling settling in my chest, realizing that this wasn’t just a villa.
It felt like a place you couldn’t easily leave.
“Where am I?” I asked, my voice tense, almost breaking the surrounding silence.
“You are in the estate of Prince Dominic the Third , The family that once ruled all the Alps de France… and they still—”
A smooth, gentle voice called from far away, cutting through the still air. I turned my head and saw a man I didn’t recognize. He was an adult, tall and strong, without a shirt, his muscles moving with each precise motion as he threw arrows. His pants were black linen, low on his hips, and the sight made my breath catch.
For a moment, I just stood there, frozen, unsure whether to step closer or run, my eyes following every controlled movement he made...
