Chapter 18 Lilura
It had taken me a week to plan the mixer for everyone. Partly because I slept for two straight days to recover from the ordeal with Osiris, two more days just trying to take care of daily life stuff like paying bills and cleaning my house, one whole day tangled naked with Tyr, and two actual days of planning. Luckily Eva had made it so we could use the nightclub Aura as the venue. After a heated discussion about the Fae archway in the basement of course.
Finally, however, I had managed to pull it off. There were no humans except for some of the vampires familiars, and all supernatural groups had brought a crowd with them.
I was wearing a plum dress that clung to my body tightly and reached the floor. My hair was completely down and curled into sexy waves. Tyr was in a nice white button-down and black pants. He looked relatively human. He had his hand on the small of my back and we looked out at the dance floor on the second-floor balcony.
“You did well Lilura.” He whispered into my ear, he kissed my neck and shivers went through my body. We had spent 24 straight hours together and it still didn’t seem like enough.
“Thank you, hopefully, no one kills anyone.” I sighed.
“Everyone was told to be on their best behavior. So relax my love.” He crooned softly in my ear still. I turned my head to give him a long kiss. I still had reservations about being a mortal and loving Tyr, but I also wasn’t sure about the ritual Eva had suggested. I released Tyr from our kiss. He gave me a wide smile and looked past my shoulder at someone.
I turned and saw Eva and Marcus making their way toward us.
“Lilura. Tyr.” Marcus nodded in greeting. Eva and I gave each other a quick hug.
“I guess I must thank you both for your bravery in helping to stop Osiris,” Marcus said dryly.
“You’re welcome,” Tyr said cooly. Marcus still seemed perturbed by having to thank a witch and a Fae. But he seemed to swallow his pride and gave us an appreciative nod.
Marcus turned to leave but Eva grabbed his arm. His eyebrow raised in surprise.
“Yes, Eva?” He asked.
“Gawain. I want his portraits.” She demanded. Marcus looked taken aback.
“Fine. But I want them returned to me. He was my son.” Marcus warned.
“He was more my son than yours. And you can’t hoard him from me.” Eva’s tone was dangerously low and threatening. Marcus was seething but he nodded in acceptance before tearing his arm from Eva’s grasp and storming away.
“You deserve those portraits,” I assured Eva.
“Yes, I do. I deserved them a long time ago. I’m glad I’m getting them now.” Eva said. She shook off her memories and gave me a smile.
“Erika is here. If you wanted to speak with her.” Eva offered.
“Actually yes. I would like that.” I replied.
“Would you like us to join you?” Tyr asked.
“No, I think I need to do this alone,” I said. Eva looped her arm through mine and led me to a dark corner booth. Erika sat there alone sipping on a metallic wine glass.
“Erika, Lilura would like to speak with you privately,” Eva announced.
“Of course. I’ve been waiting for you. Please take a seat.” Her voice was smooth and musical. I took a seat in the opposite booth. Eva squeezed my shoulder encouragingly and left us.
“I don’t know where to start,” I said.
“You want to know about your father, your real father.” Erika began for me.
“Yes,” I replied quietly.
“He was one of our first creations. His name was Azazel. He was powerful and manipulative, you got out of control. We had to imprison in a veiled sister world. Much in the same way we did with Osiris. However, he has devout followers.” She explained.
“Like my grandmother. He was the demon she was worshipping. I don’t understand how he became my father.” I pondered.
“Yes. I believe she made a deal with him. She offered him her daughter in exchange for immortality with more power.” She went on. I felt sick. I had no idea the depths of my grandmother's depravity.
“But she’s gone, she didn’t get what she wanted, and my mother was violated,” I muttered.
“As I said Azazel is a manipulator. He made promises he never planned to keep. Your grandmother did receive her immortality but he pulled her into his world.” Erika continued.
“So where does that leave me. I know that Eva performed the ritual to protect me but what do I do with this power. What even is this power?” I thought out loud.
“I don’t know what power you have yet. But we will be you here to help you through this.” Erika assured
“Thank you. One more thing.” I started.
“Go ahead.”
“Eva told me about a ritual that could extend my life. I was wondering if you could explain it to me.” I asked.
“You’re with the Fae aren’t you? That’s why you ask.” Erika asked. I nodded.
“I see your predicament. But the ritual will be useless.” She said simply.
“What? Why?” I asked shocked.
“You are the daughter of a very powerful demon. His blood runs in your veins whether you like it or not. You have been gifted with a bizarre mix of mortal and demon blood. You will live as a mortal with all its weaknesses. But you will have your eternity ageless with Tyr if you wish.” Erika said cryptically.
“So I’m immortal?” I asked hesitantly.
“In a sense,” Erika answered. I felt that was the most answers I was going to get for now. I said a pleasant goodbye and left Erika to finish her blood. I went to find Eva and stumbled across her and Kodan having a hushed conversation in a booth with Kodan. I stepped back but I had already heard a snippet.
“I have to go back to the Nashville office soon. Unless I have a reason to stay.” Kodan said.
“Why would you stay here?” Eva asked.
“I don’t have a professional reason. But I have to be honest. I can’t stop thinking about you. And thinking about leaving you is...difficult.” Kodan stammered.
“You would be giving up a lot.” Eva wondered.
“So you don’t feel the same?” Kodan asked defeated.
“Kodan no I do! I really do. I want you to stay but I won’t order you to stay.” Eva said.
I didn’t hear the rest of the conversation as Tyr grabbed my wrist pulling me into another darkened empty booth. He started kissing me feverishly and I lost myself in him. There was a black velvet privacy curtain and Tyr pulled it closed. He started pushing my dress up around my thighs and I frantically unzipped his pants. He moved my underwear to the side and was inside me in an instant. I wanted to cry out but his lips were on mine trapping my cry of pleasure between our lips. He began to move in me. Slow at first and gradually picking up speed. I moaned loudly as his lips moved like fire down my neck to my breasts. I pulled his hair tilting his head back kissing feverish kisses along his chin. I could feel myself building and as he went deeper in me I couldn’t stop myself and my body erupted with pleasure. Tyr kept going until he found his release. Both of us slumped heavily against the wall.
I knew that there were so many challenges ahead of us but if I truly had more years with Tyr I would gladly accept them. These moments with him were the best I had ever had in my life and I didn’t want to be without him, ever.
We tried to put ourselves back together as much as possible but Tyr’s hair was wild, his shirt was rumbled and his cheeks were flushed. I was in a worse state. My dress was wrinkled, I was still sweating, and my hair was tangled and wet with sweat. My makeup was also starting to run. Tyr pulled back the curtain and we rejoined the party.
Eva and Kodan found us and gave us curious looks.
“What have you two been up to?” Eva asked conspiratorially. She dropped me a wink and I blushed redder.
“So Kodan what’s next for you?” I asked, wanting to know the conclusion of their private conversation.
“I’m going to ask for a transfer. There is a small office here and Knoxville has been full of surprises.” He answered. He gave a vibrant smile to Eva and he grabbed her hand intertwining his fingers with hers. I wondered absently if Marcus knew yet. I didn’t ask because I was so happy to see my two friends so happy.
“I’m so glad you decided to stay. It will be great having you here.” I said.
“Yes, I think so. Also, Eva and I have an idea.” Kodan continued.
“Really?” I asked curiously.
“Yeah, I think you were on the right track with trying to get all the leaders involved with these murders. However, there’s so much animosity between the groups it didn’t work. So we were thinking what if we established a separate council. One with a representative from each group. All four of us already know how to work together, it could really bring us closer.” Kodan explained excitedly. I beamed with delight.
“I’m so in!” I exclaimed. I looked at Tyr to gauge his reaction but he didn’t seem to have been listening. He was watching King Oberon and Aeden walk over to us.
Nobody spoke as the Fae finally reached us.
“Lord Tyr did I hear correctly that you are creating your own council?” The King asked.
“Yes, the idea has been brought up.” Was all Tyr said.
“Hmm, so you are trying to gain power with the other species.” King Oberon condemned.
“No.” Tyr snapped.
“How am I supposed to believe you.” King Oberon hissed.
“Because I am renouncing my claim to the throne,” Tyr announced. All of us looked at Tyr shocked. He grabbed my hand and looked determined.
“What game are you playing at?” King Oberon snarled at Tyr.
“No games Oberon. I have no desire to be king. I will stay here with Lilura. I will no longer be present at court for the foreseeable future.” Tyr declared.
“I see. Well, consider yourself banned from court anyone after that little stunt you pulled with the knife. Have a nice short affair with your little witch. I hope you enjoy watching her die.” The King snapped. Eva and Kodan looked furious, but Tyr smiled wickedly at the king.
“I hope you enjoy war with the Unseelie Court. Queen Mab has only been staying her hand because of me. Without me there she will have no qualms raging war on the Seelie Court.” Tyr chuckled. King Oberon snarled again but said nothing turning on his heel and walking away. Aeden remained behind.
“So you’re leaving us then,” Aeden said. Tyr nodded.
“Well, I guess I’ll see you around brother. Do try to stay out of trouble. Although knowing you I know that is a lost cause.” He said with a laugh. He turned to go but stop when he saw Eva.
“I think I know you.” He said. He reached for her hand and planted a gentlemanly kiss on the top of her knuckles. Eva laughed, but Kodan looked green with jealousy.
“Yes. It was centuries ago but my master and I saved your life.” Eva explained.
“Of course. Beautiful creatures, you were and still are. As a way of thanks, I offer you one favor in payment. You may call on me whenever you need me.” He said with a charming smile. He let Eva’s hand go and disappeared back into the crowd.
“So this council, are we actually going to do it?” I asked them.
“Yes, I think we are all in,” Kodan replied.
“ I think some great things are ahead of us.” Eva declared. We all nodded in agreement. I took Tyr’s other hand and faced him. We kissed gently.
“We have a party to get back to,” I announced it to them. We all made our way to the first floor and found ourselves on the dance floor. I felt immense peace. I had my friends, I had Tyr, and for the first time in a long time, there seemed to be no trouble on the horizon.
