Chapter 17 Eva

Chapter 17 Eva When I saw my son Gawain standing there, I knew it was a trick. If anyone could have brought my son back it would have been Erika and she told me it was not possible. Still knowing it was a trick and most likely the only way I would see my son would be in death I looked at him. It had been so many centuries since I had seen him and his smiling face. I still loved him deeply and my motherly instincts began to kick in the longer I looked at him. I wanted to do whatever I could to protect and save him. I just wanted to hug him one last time. I stretched my hand out to meet him and Kodan grabbed me. His warm strong figure wrapping around me, comforting me. Another figure appeared looking like Kodan and his arms relaxed slightly. I could hear Tyr and Lilura yelling. Finally, Lilura touched my mind with her magic speaking to me. Telling me she was about to break the circle and hold him in place and that I should be ready to kill Osiris. With my arm still outstretched and Kodan’s grip on me relaxed I moved my other hand to the blade that would kill Osiris. He was no longer paying attention to me. I was ready to kill Osiris. I looked at my son one last time trying to imprint his face into my memory. Lilura broke the circle and Osiris was trapped by chains of light. I tightened my hand on the blade and Kodan took a step back raising his hand to block the light. Osiris was struggling and I used my vampiric speed and entered the circle and stabbed him in the heart. The chains disappeared and I held the blade in Osiris heart as he collapsed to his knees. A portal opened behind him and I saw the underworld and Anubis was standing there he looked at me as he grabbed Osiris by the neck pulling him into the portal. The blade I was holding pulled out of him as Anubis pulled him back to the underworld. The portal snapped closed with a loud pop. I put the blade in my belt and turned to find Joseph on the ground Tyr’s vines vanished. Kodan and Tyr were by Lilura. I walked over to Joseph who was crying about his dead wife. “If you want to see your wife so much let me help you with that,” I said and bit his neck draining him of blood then stabbed him in the heart with the blade. I quickly walked over to Tyr, Kodan, and Lilura. Lilura was unconscious on the ground. “She is almost dead, breaking the circle drained her,” Tyr told me. “It also looks like she may have broken her shoulder,” Kodan said. “She will be alright,” I told them. “The ritual I preformed is still working it saving her life and protecting her from her demon parentage.” “Demon parentage?” Kodan and Tyr questioned me at the same time. “Yes, I tasted it in her blood. Don’t worry she will be safe Erika is much more powerful than any demon, in fact, she made them. They were her original Sumerian vampires in fact.” I told them. “Telling everyone my secrets, I see,” Erika said as she approached us. “Sorry, they were so nosy,” I told her. “That’s quite alright my darling. Let me help your friend.” Erika motioned us for some room. Erika kneeled over Lilura and placed her hand on her forehead and spoke in Sumerian, to amp up the dramatics, I guess. She didn’t need to say anything just place her hand on Lilura’s forehead and she would be healed. When Erika took stood up Lilura opened her eyes. “Did we get him?” She asked us. “Yes.” We said. Tyr helped Lilura up off the ground. “It looks like you didn’t need me here after all Eva,” Erika told me. I hugged Erika tightly. “I guess not, but I’m glad you came. He showed me, Gawain.” I told her. “I’m so sorry Eva. I know that must have brought up a lot of pain for you.” Erika said. “Actually, it was nice to see him. I was starting to forget his face after all these centuries. Marcus has his paintings locked away. Maybe I’ll display them.” I absent-mindedly told her. “We should go,” Kodan told us. “Yes. I’ll call Elise to come clean this mess up.” I said. We walked back to the cars and I texted Elise. “Do you all want to stay at my place?” I asked. “Or are you all ready to go back to your own homes?” Lilura laughed. “Of course, we will stay. We need to celebrate our victory!” Tyr and Kodan groaned. “I like her,” Erika said and introduced herself to Lilura. “Let me know if you ever want to talk my daughter. Eva has my number and I will be waiting when you are ready.” Before Lilura could answer Erika disappeared into the darkness. “So how do you want to celebrate?” I asked Lilura. “Well, we should probably let everyone know that they will not be battling the army of the dead. We should also get all of the supernatural leaders together to discuss what happened. Then we should throw a big mixer for everyone!” Lilura excitedly exclaimed. “Are you sure that’s a wise idea?” Tyr asked. “Yes!” Lilura said and excitedly continued to plan out this large supernatural mixer.
