Adrian's movements were as furtive as a thief's, a mix of nervous tension and adrenaline. His mind was completely consumed by what was happening inside, so much so that he didn't notice his surroundings or see Anna coming upstairs. Anna, spotting Adrian creeping around like a shadow, called out, "Adrian." Just as Adrian was about to push the door open, Anna's voice made him jump out of his skin. "What are you doing!"
