Ethan's POV:
Aryanna was quiet. She seemed shaken from whatever happened in the market, and her face was still pale.
But what struck out to me the most was her eyes. Aryanna's eyes usually radiated happiness whatever she did, but it was easy to see when that changed, it was easy to see how when a different emotion shone through and it rubbed me the wrong way.
She didn't even look or bring out her bag when we parked by the house, and I had to pick it up for her. She glanced at me and smiled softly, though it didn't reach her eyes.
Brenda was in the kitchen when we walked in, and she grabbed the bag off my hands and hugged Aryanna. I think that was what actually helped to calm her, because I saw Aryanna's spine visibly relax and my lips twitched in a smile at how easily everyone loved u
