DARK OBSESSION Episodes 22–26 EPISODE 22 — THE ROOM OF MEMORIES Mara couldn't move. Hundreds of photographs covered the walls. Some showed her as a child. Others showed her during university, at work, walking through crowded streets, sitting alone in cafés, and sleeping in places she believed were safe. Someone had been watching her for years. Her eyes moved toward the newest photograph. It showed her standing exactly where she was now. She stepped backward. "No..." A floorboard creaked behind her. Mara turned. Nothing. Then the lights went out. A voice whispered from somewhere in the darkness. "You always were curious." Mara's breathing became uneven. "Who are you?" A small lamp suddenly switched on. Across the room stood a chair. On it was a black box. Beside the box was a handwritten note. OPEN IT IF YOU WANT THE TRUTH. Mara stared at it. She knew she should leave. Instead, she walked toward it. Inside the box was an old key. And beneath the key was a photograph of a house she had never seen. On the back were six words: You lived here once, Mara. Her fingers went cold. She couldn't remember the house. But somehow... she remembered the door. EPISODE 23 — THE HOUSE WITHOUT A NAME The following morning, Mara searched through every document she could find. Birth records. Old photographs. School papers. Family documents. Nothing mentioned the house. Yet the photograph wouldn't leave her mind. She eventually recognized the road. It was outside the city. Mara drove there before sunset. The road became narrower as she continued. Trees covered both sides. Then she saw it. The house. Exactly as it appeared in the photograph. Abandoned. Silent. Waiting. Mara parked outside. For several minutes, she remained inside her car. Then she noticed something strange. The front door was open. She stepped inside. Dust covered the furniture. The walls were cracked. But one thing looked untouched. A small table stood in the center of the living room. On it was a cup of tea. Still warm. Mara's heart raced. Someone was here. She heard footsteps upstairs. "Mara." She looked toward the staircase. That voice again. She climbed slowly. At the end of the hallway was a locked bedroom. The old key from the black box fit perfectly. Mara opened the door. Inside was a child's bedroom. A small bed. A wooden toy. And a photograph. Mara picked it up. Two children stood together. One was Mara. The other was a boy. She stared at his face. She knew him. But she couldn't remember his name. EPISODE 24 — THE BOY IN THE PHOTOGRAPH Mara carried the photograph downstairs. She placed it on the table and studied it beneath the fading afternoon light. The boy looked about ten years old. He stood beside her with one hand resting gently on her shoulder. On the back of the photograph was a date. And beneath it, a name. Elias. Mara whispered the name. "Elias..." Something inside her memory shifted. A garden. Rain. A red bicycle. A promise. Then darkness. She suddenly remembered a voice. "I'll always find you." Mara dropped the photograph. Someone had made that promise. But who was Elias? She searched her phone for the name. Nothing. Then her phone rang. Unknown number. She answered. "Hello?" For several seconds, nobody spoke. Then a man's voice said: "You finally remembered me." Mara's blood ran cold. "Elias?" Silence. Then: "Don't trust the person who told you I was dead." The call ended. Mara stared at the phone. A second message appeared. LOOK UNDER THE FLOORBOARD. She slowly looked down. One wooden board near the wall appeared loose. She lifted it. Beneath it was a small metal box. Inside was a diary. The first page contained handwriting she recognized. Her own. EPISODE 25 — HER OWN HANDWRITING Mara sat on the floor. The diary was old. The pages were yellowed. But the handwriting was unmistakably hers. She began reading. I don't know how long they will let me remember. Her hands trembled. The next page said: Elias isn't dangerous. They want me to believe he is. Mara turned the page. If I ever forget him, I must find this diary. Another page. Someone is changing my memories. Mara stopped. A terrible thought entered her mind. What if everything she remembered was false? Her childhood. Her family. Her relationship with Elias. Even the story of his disappearance. She continued reading. There is only one person I can trust. The next line had been crossed out. Mara held the page against the light. Underneath the ink, she could make out a few letters. M... The name had been deliberately erased. Suddenly, footsteps sounded outside. Mara closed the diary. Someone was approaching the house. She looked through the window. A black vehicle stopped at the gate. Two people stepped out. One of them looked directly toward the window. Mara immediately turned away. Her phone vibrated. Another message. LEAVE THE HOUSE NOW. She grabbed the diary. But before she could reach the door... the lights inside the house came on. Every light. And from upstairs came a woman's voice. "Mara?" She froze. The voice sounded exactly like her mother. EPISODE 26 — THE VOICE FROM THE PAST Mara hadn't heard her mother's voice in years. She slowly looked toward the staircase. "Mom?" No answer. The woman outside the house knocked on the front door. Mara didn't move. Another knock. Then another. The voice upstairs spoke again. "Mara, come to me." Tears filled her eyes. She had spent years believing she had lost everyone who mattered. But now someone was calling her from a place that should have been empty. She climbed the stairs. At the top, she saw a woman standing at the end of the hallway. Her face was hidden in shadow. "Who are you?" The woman stepped forward. Mara stopped. She looked exactly like her mother. But there was something wrong. Her eyes were completely emotionless. "You shouldn't have opened the door," the woman said. Mara stepped backward. "Where is Elias?" The woman smiled faintly. "That's the question you were never supposed to ask." A loud crash came from downstairs. The front door had been forced open. Mara looked toward the stairs. Then back at the woman. When she looked again... the hallway was empty. Only a note remained on the floor. Mara picked it up. Three words were written across it: RUN FROM ELIAS. She stared at the message. Then another sound came from downstairs. A man's voice. "Mara." She knew that voice. Elias. But this time, he wasn't whispering. He was standing inside the house. And he wasn't alone. author By ✍️ Ms . Vhie
