Chapter-37 ' the only thing that could kill her'

Ella opened her eyes and saw that she was surrounded by people, they were mostly demons and she faintly heard Iri screaming and crying for her, she couldn't see anything vividly nor could she hear anything clearly.

She turned around and saw that Al was fighting with someone and as her vision got clearer it was her brother. They were both heavily injured and still fighting, she wanted to call out to them but her voice didn't come out, she tried to hold her throat but her hands won't move. When she looked down at her hands, it was bleeding and every part of her body was hurting.

She didn't understand the situation and what had happened, the pain she was feeling felt so real. She turned next to her and saw that Minerva was crying as she was held captive.

Suddenly the world around her turn dark and the next thing she knew she was covered in darkness and flames, she wanted to run away but her body was numb and she could not feel anything.

It was hard to see her surrounding but she she saw what was going on, everything around her was burnt, the people that were just about to attack her were all lying beneath her and Iri was running towards her.

She tried her best to scream and shout at her to go away and not to touch the darkness and the flames but her effort ws futile as she could make no sound and Iri was still rushing towards her and before she could reach her, she was caught by the dark flames and fainted.

In that hopeless state she felt tears down her face and her body aching like it was on fire.

As she turn to her side Minerva had also fallen next to her, lifeless... She turned to Al hoping he'll help her but instead of what she had expected, which was a kind looking Al with a worried face she saw an Al who was looking at her with face full of anger and hatred as he flew towards her with his sword at on his hands.

She tried to move her body even if ever effort felt like she was only making herself hurt more and the insides of her throat burned with the flame.

Then before she could do anything Al thrust his sword straight at her heart and pull it out fiercely. She saw him looking at her with bloodshot eyes as she felt her body slowly turn to ashes.

Her body was slowly burning up and turning into ashes as the darkness around her brightened up. The last thing she saw was Al's relieved face seeing her vanished and she woke up.

Ella woke up to an unfamiliar ceiling, and an unfamiliar room with an unfamiliar tear in the corner of her eyes, which slid down her face as soon as she noticed them.

She thought about her dream just now, which felt so realistic that even after she woke up she felt her body ache and covered in sweat.

She quickly got out of bed and went to the bathroom, she looked at her face in the mirror which looked exhausted and splashed the water from the sink on it. She took a deep breather and thought to herself, ' What's going on, that was not a dream about the past, like the usual. Haa.. " She sighed and mumbled, " Is that how I'm going to die? With his sword? That was just a dream but that felt so real. But if I'm gonna die that will be the best way, after all his sword is the only thing that can put an end to this wretched self. "

That was true, the sword that was always with her up this long protecting her in every situation after she got hold of it was the only thing that could kill her. It was a devine that could kill any demon and she was not an exception. She had found out about it the moment she took hold of the sword but she still lived on with it instead of destroying it for, to her it was a more valuable thing than her.

She took a quick shower and went out of the bath, wearing a bath robe. And at the perfect timing someone knocked at her door and ask, " Are you up Ella? I came to give you some clothes. " The voice belonged to Al and she recognised it.

She realised that the cloths she was wearing yesterday was all worn out from the chaos yesterday and went to open the door.

Al was wearing a loose shirt and a black sweatpants, looking like he just came out of the shower himself. He gave her a sweet small smile when he saw her open the door wishing her, " Good morning, did you had a good sleep? " He handed her the clothes.

" Good morning, thank you I had a nice sleep. " She was still a bit timid and talked in a low voice.

Al suddenly smiled and said, " So I heard that I have a chance in winning over you? "

Ella looked at him a bit shocked and confused, " What do you mean? Who said? "

" Oh nothing, last night I just heard someone talking about us next to my room and thought that it was a great news. " He teased her making her face flushed.

She hold her breath regretting ever living and waking up to this day and said back, " How can you eavesdrop on us like that. "

Al was still smilling as he said, " Oh I'm sorry it's just that I heard it by accident as it is a normal room without a soundproof so I had no choice. When I finally get the chance from you than I'll build a better room with special soundproof system."

Ella looked at him acting mad and said, " Why are our rooms so close for such a big house. Welp! That's it no more chance for you, go find someone else. " And she shut the door at his face.

He whined and said, " I was just joking. Hehe sorry, breakfast will be served in a while, come down when your done. Let's eat together! "

She made a humming sound as an agreement and went to put on her dress. It was a simple dress just down to her knees of sky blue color, designed like the ones she usually wear. Even be size was a perfect fit even if it was a new piece, the brand tag was still hanging on the collar. The fact that he bought it for her and with such accuracy made her heart warm up to her cheeks.

She went down the kitchen and saw them sitting round the table and making some casual talks. She went towards them and Al directed her to sit next to him but she shrugged him off and went to sit beside Iri, making him pout and the other two confused .

Iri asked, " What's going on? " Still as curious as ever.

And Al replied, " Oh I just told her this morning that someone next to my room was talking about us last night. "

Ella glared at him and Iri thought for a while and before long understood what he meant and smiled shamefully, " You heard us last night? Well you guys fix that yourself. "

They had already started their breakfast and Al was cutting on his, after hearing Iri he didn't even bother to looking up as he said in a blunt voice, " By the way, Jace's room is next to Ella's. "

Jace looked at Al like he had been betrayed and Iri looked at Jace and than looked down with a face as red as an apple as she cussed out, " Why are the rooms so close for such a big house. "

Al and Ella both looked at her and looked at each other and laughed. It was the same thing that Ella had said earlier.

After dinner they sat out in the garden and shared whatever they knew and their own future plans on what to do now, whether to offend or remain defending. Al who was a noble by blood suggested that it was time for them to hunt down the demons instead of hiding. But he also knew that he was the only person suitable for it and if he went the others might be in danger so they agreed upon staying close by and informing each other if they spot the demons nearby.

After they had agreed on it Al asked, " Well, I guess that's it for now? "

Iri raised her hand slowly and said, " Well where are we gonna stay for now? Didn't you say our house was damaged? "

Ella suddenly remember and was going to say something but Al had already planned it out so he beat her to it, " You can stay her for now, it would both be safer and easier for me to protect you guys if something goes wrong. "

Jace spoke up supporting him, " Yes, it would be better for you guys to remain here for now. "

Iri asked him, " What about you? Where will you stay, aren't you gonna stay here with us? "

Jace looked at her, feeling glad seeing still genuinely worrying about him and said, " I can't, if we all stay here than we can't find out anything about what they are planning so I'll go around searching about them and inform Al from time to time. "

Iri who was worried spoke, " But isn't that dangerous? What will you do if something happened to you. "

Jace gave her a reassuring smile and said, " Don't worry, I know the safe way to do it and nothing will happen to me. And after all, if I don't there is no one else we can ask from."

Iri gave in and said, " Okay. "

At that time Iri got a call from Minerva and she talked to her for a while, she came back to them and said, " The others are worried about us, I called them last time asking if they knew something and I think they must have gotten worried. They are saying to meet up at the usual spot later. "

" Well I guess we should, we have been through a rough day so I guess we can relax for today. " Al said and they all agreed.
