Chapter Five: The Calling

They sit down on Kew's bed as she explains everything about the dreams from the hallway with they many doors to the old woman in the rocking chair to being thrown out of the room. Luna listens quietly listening to every word. When Kew is finished Luna asks "have you noticed anything while you're awake that seems different?" Kew thinks back to the forest and explains how she heard and felt something calling out to her. Luna says "We should go there tonight after we eat!" Kew reluctantly agrees. They go to the kitchen to get the food out of the oven. Kew had made a delicious Sheppard's Pie. They both quickly eat their food and pack their bags with things they think they might need for their trip. Flashlights, their pocket knives, some water bottles filled to the brim with water, and a camera. They wanted to be able to document anything they would find. Luna suggests that they stop by her house on the way to grab something. So they make their way to Luna's house. Luna hurries inside and returns with a small metal box. "Lets go." says Luna as she opens the box to reveal a tightly rolled joint and a book of matches. Luna lights up the joint and takes a large puff and passes it to Kew. "I haven't smoked since freshman year." Kew says as she takes a large puff trying not to cough. "Noob." Luna says trying not to laugh. Just as they finish the joint they arrive in front of the forests entrance. Just as soon as Kew lays eyes on the forest she can almost hear the trees calling out to her. "Enter if you dare; but all who enter beware." Kew and Luna lock eyes and take a deep breath before entering.
