Iris met Claire at the lab shortly after seeing Sebastian too. Though her mind drifted off to dinner countless times, they managed to draft a plan to work on before afternoon.
"Is your head working alright?" Claire made a point by knocking on it. "You spaced out five times in half an hour."
"I-I do have something..." Iris trailed off. Her face heated into a pink hue.
Claire closed the distance between them, lowered her voice and asked, "Robert mentioned that Alpha came to see you. Is it about that?"
Sebastian was half the reason Iris got a spot in the lab. It was an open secret that's rarely brought up. Iris would have liked to keep it under wraps but Sebastian's visits during the month made it impossible.
