I kept banging on the door, but no one would answer me. I've been locked up in this room for two days, and nobody was coming to my aid. Two days ago, I turned 20, and that same day, my parents abducted me from home and took me to this strange place. The only people I've come in contact with were the little girl who seemed weird and the men that dragged me here. Two nights in, yet no one came in or out. I heard footsteps and murmuring around, assuring me that people actually lived here, so I didn't stop myself from screaming whenever I had the chance.
"Help me! Someone please help me!" I kept screaming and banging the door, but nobody came to my rescue.
"Please, anyone! I beg you…. I'm thirsty, and I really need to use the bathroom!" I screamed. Then I heard footsteps approaching; I increased my volume, and eventually, someone spoke.
"I really wish I could give you water, but my dad ordered that you had nothing to eat or drink. Well, there is a restroom at the corner of the room, so help yourself." The voice was familiar, and it immediately dawned on me that it was the girl from before. I ran to where the door was, and I kept banging.
"Listen to me… Listen to me, please. You have to let me out, please. I don't know where I am or who you are, but please let me out; I'm begging you…" I broke down in tears, crying, but I got no response.
"Hello… Hello… Are you still there? Little girl… Are you still there?" I stuttered, but I got no response. I was about to bang the door again when I heard approaching footsteps. Soon, the doorknob twisted, and it was a sign someone was opening the door for me. The door made a screeching sound and opened slowly. Some groups of girls started to walk in, holding several boxes each.
"Hello…" I stuttered, but they didn't pay attention to me just yet. They started to arrange their boxes.
"Do you think we will be able to get her ready before time?" One of them said, and I looked at her in shock.
"Get who ready… Me?"
"She sure lost some weight; I guess the starving paid off," one of them at the right said. I looked at her; my vision was blurry because I had cried a lot. It then dawned on me that they hadn't only intentionally starved me; there was a reason for it.
"Who are you guys?" I asked, and yet again, nobody gave me any response. Then I screamed in frustration.
"What's going on!"
"We are here to get you ready for your wedding!" someone said from behind, and I turned to see who it was. It was a familiar voice, and to my greatest surprise, it was Elsa, my elder sister.
"Elsa! Elsa! Elsa…. What's going on? Where am I? Who are these people?" I had a lot of questions on my mind, but what excited me the most was that I was in front of my elder sister. She was my hero growing up; she would stop my parents from hurting me with their harsh words or always help me out of the cupboard whenever my other siblings locked me up after playing hide and seek.
"Leah.. Brace yourself, we have been waiting for this day, and it's finally here so let's get it over with," she blurted, and I looked at her once again, confused about what exactly was going on.
"What is happening today? I'm confused, Mom and Dad brought me here and abandoned me here for days, a little girl won't stop talking about her father, whom I know has something to do with me being here, and now you too… What do you mean we have been waiting for this day? Who's 'we'?" I cried out, and she slowly walked to where I was.
"My father, your father, and his father," she snickered.
"Elsa… I don't understand," I whispered.
"Wasn't it obvious, or were you too dumb to notice?" Elsa chuckled.
"Okay… Let me back it easy for you. Twenty years ago, two friends came together to make a deal. One of them was so rich and wealthy; he was the most influential man in the country, and the other one was broke. He had nothing, just a newly born, and then he had this big company idea but no money. So, he went to his rich friend for help. Obviously, the rich friend could help, but the other friend had to pay a price… Do you know what that price was? His wife! The other friend wanted his friend's wife, but the poor guy offered him something else… his newly born." She chuckled.
"So … What does that have to do with what's going on?" I muttered.
"Hold on, we will get to that part of the story. The rich friend's name was Natalie, and the broke guy was Marcus. So Marcus offered his newly born child, and Natalie accepted. Meanwhile, Natalie already had a 10-year-old son. Now, this is where the story gets interesting. Natalie summoned his friend, whose name was Leo …" She paused and looked at me; I looked at her with uncertainty in my eyes.
"Leo…."
"Yes, as in our father… well, not your father but my father! Plot twist…" She chuckled, and I started to shiver. Whatever she was saying didn't make sense, but what she was arriving at was beginning to scare me.
"Gosh… We have no time. Fast-forward to the interesting part of the story. Natalie offered his friend Leo millions of dollars to take care of the little girl, and when the time is right, he was going to bring her back twenty years after so he can do to her what he pleases…. That baby is you!" Elsa dropped the bombshell; her lips curled in an awkward smirk. I had no idea why she felt like this was funny. At some point, I wanted to believe this was all a joke, but it was too real to be a joke.
"What are you saying?" I stuttered.
"I am saying, you are not my biological sister, and your real father is somewhere in the world enjoying his wealth while you are going to be married today!
"Wait What….."
"Remember I said he had a 10-year-old son and he was going to do to you what he pleases. Surprisingly, he wants you to marry his son…" Elsa frowned.
"What!"
