Chapter Twelve: Loss & FoundAlpha Maddox is aware of the rumors about him regarding his ascension to power.
The rumor goes that one his twentieth birthday, after one of the bloodiest battles he has ever conquered, he returned home with blood still dripping from his claws and walked into a clan meeting. The rumor goes that he informed his father he was taking over. When the Alpha protested, Maddox challenged his own father in a fight and won, besting the man and pinning him on the ground, sparing his life only because he was blood.
The truth- well, the truth was rather similar to that, really, but he had no strong will to be Alpha.
It is true that he challenged his father, but what he was truly after was the name of the man whom his father had sold his beloved rabbit to.
