"Check your phone whenever you have some time. Okay? I might call you." Her Mom instructed her.
Today is their school's Foundation Day. Avery was wearing her P.E uniform. A white t-shirt where their school logo was imprinted and a green jogging pants.
"Got it. Now hurry up, your friends are waiting for you outside." She put her tumbler, extra shirt, wallet, powerbank, face towel, and cellphone inside her bag as she went outside.
"Take care. Check your phone from time to time."
"I will. Bye!"
.
"BEETHOVEN ACADEMY!" The crowds started to go wild when the DJ switched the music into Party Rock.
"B.A?" The Emcee asked them before turning the mic into the crowds.
"Ruler!" The students answerred.
"B.A?"
"Rulers!" The three also shouted the usual chant.
"Well, well. As we start our Annual Fun Run, I want to remind the students about our usual and very important rules. No pushing, Act morally, Be Responsible, Watch your step, and Enjoy!" The students clapped and shouted in excitement when the teachers started to raise the green flag which it means that the fun run will start.
"On your marks. Ready, Set..... Go!"
The students run excitedly especially the freshmen while the three started to do some grouphies. They just walk normally since running will just make them feel exhausted.
They remember their freshman year where they run so fast and in the end, nothing happened except for wasting your energy.
The three started to jog moderately. Avery was at the back trying to keep up with her bestfriends.
"Hey." She turned her head and smiled when she saw her male classmate named Clark. She stopped jogging and started to walk as she catch her breath.
"Who's with you?"
"My friends but they are in the back." He replied while panting.
"You three never seperates." He said while looking at Neria and Yuna who also stopped jogging.
"Yeah. Even boys can't seperate us. I never noticed you before What's your full name?"
"We talked sometimes. You just didn't noticed it because your world only revolves around your bestfriends. By the way, Clark Borneo."
"Avery Houston." She accepted his hand and made a handshake with him.
She started to jog again without removing what Clark said inside her head.
You just didn't noticed it because your world only revolves around your bestfriends.
She just realized that he's right. She also missed many moments to socialize other people and to get to know her classmates more.
She suddenly thought that maybe--
"Ouch!" Avery fell into the ground when someone pushed her to the side of the road. Clark immediately held her arms to help her stand up.
She looked up to see who it was and she saw a guy who is running very fast. The guy slowly turned his head but didn't stopped running. Avery's eyes met his, anger immediately filled her when she saw him smirked before he boost his speed.
"Are you alright?" Neria and Yuna worriedly checked if she got any wound and they saw a little scratch on her elbow.
"Did I saw Xanthite?"
"That jerk..... thanks." She said when she gained her balance.
"Let's just walk."
"Why did Xanthite pushed you?" Neria asked when they started walking.
"I-i don't know."
"Does he know you?"
"Well, he's the Master's assistant in our Cookery Class." Avery moaned when her elbow were in sore.
"You should be careful whenever he's around, Ave, and please ignore him if possible." Yuna warned her with a worried face.
.
When they arrived in Beethoven Academy they were given a free breakfast to eat and a few minutes before the program will start.
Avery, Neria, and Yuna was washing their hands when the Emcee started to announce the Fun Run winners.
They went inside the Quadrangle and Avery was surprised to see Sir Jess' standing on the stage.
"Xinesi Jess, our 1st placer for the Fun Run. Let's give him a round of applause!"
Avery clapped her hands and was surprised when a group of students started shouting.
"SIR JESS! SIR JESS! SIR JESS!"
"Looks like Sir Jess has a group of fans." The Emcee said but Sir Jess just bowed and walked down the stage without even smiling.
"I'm hoping everyone has already ate their breakfast... Well, let's check. B.A?!"
"Rulers!"
"B.A?"
"Rulers!"
The Emcee smiled when the students are all energetic and excited.
"For Our Appetizer this morning program. Let us hear another beat from The Liss!"
The number of crowds started to increased when The Liss showed up from the stage. Neria and Yuna started to shout and chant the members' names which usually happens before The Liss performs.
"Did all my dreams never meantone thing? Does happiness lie in a diamond ring? Oh, I've been asking for. Oh, I've been asking for problems, problems, problems~" Avery raised her arms and started to sway together with the music as she started singing too.
"Look me in the eyes, tell me what you see. A perfect paradise? Tearing at the seams. I wish I could escape it but I don't wanna fake it, wish I could erase it. Make your heart believe but I'm a bad liar~" She closed her eyes as she felt the sensation of Ivan's voice.
Everybody started to sing with them while swaying their arms too. She slowly opened her eyes and she saw Anthony, Terrence, and Michael standing beside Ivan and each one of them was holding a microphone.
"I'm a Bad Liar~" They all sang in chorus which made the crowds go crazy even more. Neria and Yuna doesn't seem to know the word 'calm down'.
Avery looked at Xanthite and was confuse when he's the only member who didn't sing. He played the drum like a professional, every hit of the note makes his sweat pour. Avery also noticed that Xanthite never made an eye contact with the audience.
Avery clapped her hands when Xanthite played an outro and the rest of the members bowed their heads before walking out of the stage.
.
"Our next contestant, Savannah Marcos!" The three laughed as they watched how the gays sexily walked across the stage.
Avery adore their beauty as a woman and as a man. They are wearing heavy make-ups which made them look like a real lady but their masculine biceps didn't escape from the audience.
"If he's not gay, I would marry him." Avery said while laughing when the two agreed as they watch the contestant named Dianah Lucas who has a broad shoulders and a sexy jawline.
"Wait for me in the cafeteria." Avery said when the program ended.
"Sure just make it quick whatever it is." She nodded before running towards the backstage.
She will have another collection for the Masculine Beauty photos. Eversince 7th grade she started to take a selfie with one of the Masculine Beauty contestant whom she adore.
She went looking for Dianah Lucas and she saw him talking to a gay friend.
"Excuse me. Can I have a picture with you?" Diana was so tall especially that he's wearing a 6-inch heels.
"Sure, dear, no problem."
Avery extended her arms and went closer to Dianah whose arms are wrapping around her waist.
"Thank you so much."
"Not a problem." Dianah winked at her before flipping his wig and turned around to continue chatting with his friends.
Avery giggled as she stared at her phone picture with Dianah while heading out of the Quadrangle when someone grabbed her arm. The scenario happened so fast that the last thing she knew was she's on a vacant classroom, leaning against the wall while nervously looking at the guy infront of her who was panting heavily.
He's wearing a black face mask and a black hoodie jacket. She was about to pull down his mask when the guy stopped her hand from doing it.
She gulped when she saw his eye-daggered look. Avery seems to be looking at the Grim Reaper's eyes until she realized the color was electric blue and it only means one thing.
"Jerk!" Her eyes widen and she immediately hit him when she knew that it was Xanthite as soon as he took off his mask.
"Do you know that you are the reason why I have this scratch?! Hmmm." She glared at him when Xanthite covers her mouth using his palm.
"Yeah, I know. Tone down your voice if you don't want to die in here." He smirked before he slowly released her mouth.
"Ouch! Stop it!" She bemoaned when Xanthite pinched both side of her cheeks. She pushed him hardly but it seems that he was made out of bricks when he didn't moved a single distance.
"I hate you." He said emotionlessly.
"Then, can you please leave me alone? What did I ever do to you to make you hate me? If you hate me, then I hate you more and I don't need a piece of sh*t like you in my life." Avery instantly wants to take back what she just said.
Avery firmly leaned against the wall when Xanthite move his face closer. His electric blue eyes was full of anger and..... sorrow?
Avery could feel her heart pounding so fast because of nervousness when Xanthite suddenly held her neck tightly which made her unable to breath.
"X-xanthite." She stared at his electric blue eyes and she suddenly knew what his problem is.
Having a problem to breathe, Avery slightly held his other hand gently. He then slowly let go of Avery's neck.
She was panting when she quickly hugged Xanthite. She could feel Xanthite stopped breathing.
"I can be your friend, you don't need to hurt me." She was sobbing as she tightly hugged Xanthite.
His fragrant cologne filled her nostrils as she buried her face on Xanthite's chiseled chest.
"You don't need to hate me. Meet me tomorrow at Saavedra Elementary School, exactly 9:15 in the morning." She said as she wiped her tears before leaving Xanthite speechless.
.
Avery breathe in and breathe out. She stared at her reflection on her phone to see if it's obvious that she cried and if her neck reddened, good thing it didn't.
She fixed herself before heading to the cafeteria. She saw Neria and Yuna who looks so bored while waiting for her.
"What took you so long?" Yuna immediately asked her.
"The backstage was so crowded and there are many students who also wants to have a picture with Dianah." She casually reasoned out before sitting.
"So, let's go?"
"Yeah, I'm sure the mall is now open."
They were about to leave the cafeteria when Avery's phone rang. She saw that it was her Mother. She quickly press the answer button.
"Mom?"
"Avery, honey, where are you?" Her mother asked.
"We're in the campus cafeteria and we're about to have our lunch at the mall. Why, Mom?" Neria and Yuna started to talk in a distant while waiting for Avery to finish her call.
"What?! But I already have my plans, Mom. Why didn't you told me earlier?..... Fine, fine. Bye..... Love you too." She ended the call and took a deep sigh.
"What did Mrs. Houston said?"
"I think I won't be going with you, guys." She sadly smiled at them.
"But why?"
"We'll be flying to San Francisco. Mom needed to pass the financial review of the Pharmaceutical Franchise since her boss called her last-minute. Sorry, girls."
"It's fine. We can take you outside and wait for your Mom to arrived." Neria said as they walked towards the gate.
.
"What's that? A new toy?" Avery asked her brother when she saw him playing a small robot toy.
"You're not blind, aren't you?" She frowned and she was about to hit him when she overheard the conversation between her Mom and her boss.
"Oh..... It's alright. I can stop over and get the files from Mr. Valdez. No problem, Sir." Her Mom put down the phone before smiling at Avery in the rear mirror.
"I'll be stopping over at the mall to get some files and buy a take-out lunch for us."
.
"Avery." Avery looked down to see her brother who was calling her.
"What?" She mouthed.
"Is that your friends, right?" She turned around to see what Arthur was pointing at.
Her eyes widened in disbelief. She even pinched herself to see if she's just dreaming but no..... it's real. It is really Neria and Yuna.
