I swear Mr. Gotts' lecture couldn't have been more boring. I already read this chapter over a week ago. It should make this part a breeze. Mr. Gotts' stature was tall and dark. He had black hair, tanned skin, and brown eyes. He always wore a suit. The only thing that differed was his tie. His son was somewhat of a child artist and often drew designs that his wife would make into a tie. Today, it was a home with stick figures: one blue, one pink and one green. I smiled at it.
'Hey.' Its that same voice. I look around me but see only the other students either texting, doing work, or paying attention to Mr. Gotts. Oh, and of course, Mike is head down, sleeping on his desk. I don't think I've ever seen him pay attention in class. He just cheats anyway. It's just to stay on the football team.
'Hey!' The voice is getting angry sounding. 'Listen to me would you!'
I glance one more time over the class around me. No one is even looking my way. What in the world is going on?
'I'm you, dumb ass!' I freeze. Me? What does that mean? 'I'm Sasha, I'm a part of you. I'm your wolf.'
I almost laughed out loud but caught myself. I am definitely going crazy! I shake my head and start doing the work Mr. Gotts assigned. Distract myself from going
even more insane.
'Don't f*****g ignore me!' Snapping at myself now. But, this kind of hurt me. Emotionally. How is that possible? Am I creating a second personality finally? I hear it can happen in those with trauma.
'You're not going crazy.' Okay, this voice is kinda weird. I think I'm finally losing it. I jumped to the sound of the bell ringing its high pitched shrill. Class is over.
I didn't realize how much time had gone by while this voice was talking to me and me scrambling through my mush brain to figure out if I was going insane. I
lost an hour.
'Let's ditch this place. I want to show you something, Alexis.' Show me something?
'Yes! Now grab your s**t and let's go! It will be so worth your time!' It was as if she was purring in my head. I almost felt excited. I've never skipped a day in my life. It was the only time I would eat actual
food. Wait. Food. I can't leave without eating! I could feel Sasha groaning.
'Just steal some later!' She barked. Fine, fine! Let's go. I grabbed my bag and, just as I was about to walk out, I heard someone calling out to me.
"Alexis." Mr. Gotts called. I turned to him. He was sitting in his chair, he looked too tall, even sitting. His pants lifted up over his ankle, exposing his superman socks and formal shoes. God, those things were annoying. At least he would never sneak up on you with all the clicking they made. I could feel agitation
build up inside me. My stomach gnawed on itself and Sasha pacing in my head. She wanted to go and now. I couldn't blame her either. I wanted to bail just as badly for the first time ever.
"Yes sir?" I asked in a low voice. Wondering what he could want from me. I could sense he had something to say. His brow furrowed, thinking of his words. He folded his hands on his lap and pursed his lips.
"Is everything...okay?" He asked carefully. What? Why is he asking this? Confusion must have been all over my face.
"Your face. Your lip looks busted. Also, your make-up. I can still see the black eye...." He trailed off, biting his lip as if contemplating his next words carefully. As he thought, he leaned forward in his chair, resting his elbows on his knees to support his weight.
"Who hit you?" He asked in a low whisper. His eyes never left mine as he confronted me. I could tell he wasn't going to let this go. I just shook my head and smiled. Worry filled me and my heart dropped into my stomach. I took a weary step backwards towards my exit.
"I fell!" I almost squealed. Right before I turned to run out of the room, I could see the concern deepen on his face. I bolted as fast as I could, nearly bumping into a student who loudly protested. I didn't care. Sasha was about to have me busting out my skin with excitement. I couldn't differentiate our
feelings anymore. It was as if we really were the same person, yet not. All I could feel was the electric excitement that reverberated through me.
I nearly tore my locker door off its rusty hinges, forcing it open as quickly as possible. I grabbed my backpack and tossed my book on the top shelf.
'Grab it all. I don't see us coming back...' What? What does that mean?
'It means take it all.' Okay. Screw it! I grab everything in my locker and shove it into my bag. I threw it over my shoulder and almost skipped out the school doors. I couldn't wait to see what Sasha had to show me.
