Maverick
Dark excitement buzzed under my skin, like static electricity, a lowball glass of Tequila hovering over my mouth.
She was here.
My sweet muffin was here.
My eyes followed every move she made on the screen, a groan scraping out of my throat as the blonde wedged between my thighs made loud slurping noises while I tossed the shot to the back of my throat in one go. My c**k jerked in her mouth, pressure building at the base of my stomach as my muscles coiled tighter.
Gia’s hair sat in a messy bun over her head as she moved across the room like it was already hers. She pinched the black satin bra draped over the armrest, scrutinizing it before dropping it like it was hot coal in her grasp.
A laugh rasped from my throat, my chest tightening as she pumped faster—using both her hands and mouth. My head fell back against the chair, a growl rattling through me until I exploded in her mouth.
Monique came up for air, her lips leaving my c**k with a wet pop as she threw her head back and panted.
“That was so good. We should definitely do it again,”
I didn’t answer.
Instead, my eyes were fixed on Gia whose feet remained planted on the same spot—probably considering waiting or backing out.
Monique pressed a kiss to my temple, pulling my gaze away from the screen. She gently tilted my chin toward her and leaned in to kiss me, but I stopped her before she could crush her lips on mine.
No.
Kissing on the mouth was a deeper form of intimacy for me. I didn’t just kiss anyone.
She sighed—disappointed. “Same time tomorrow?”
I tucked my c**k back into my pants and pulled up the zipper. “No. Our arrangement ends tonight,”
Several small scoffs left her mouth. “You are ending what we have because of her?” She pointed to Gia who had now made herself comfortable on the couch.
My brows knitted together with confusion. “What do we have? We’re just f*****g. I just met you two nights ago. What do you mean, Monique?”
Disbelief swirled in her eyes and this time, I was genuinely confused. “Who the f**k is Monique? I’m Jordan!”
I slowly buttoned my shirt. “I must have confused you for the other blonde—“
Before I could finish, she grabbed a pillow, hurled it at me, and stormed out of the room, flipping me off with both hands as she went.
A breath whooshed out of me. Good riddance!
I strolled down the stairs, tracing my finger through the banister and my breathing stalled the moment my gaze fell on her, sitting on my couch and in my apartment as her eyes fluttered awkwardly and—
Monique came into my field of vision and I frowned. s**t! She said her name was Jordan.
She yanked her thong from the floor, shoving it into her purse. “Word of advice, don’t get attached to him. He is a jerk,”
Gia twisted around and nodded as Jordan—yes, Jordan—strode toward the door and slammed it shut so hard, it sounded like she was trying to bring down the entire building.
Gia blew out a slow breath, pressing her eyes shut.
“Well. Well. Who do we have here? If it’s not the stubborn Gia Heidi who can’t wait to be my girlfriend,” My mouth tipped up with a smile as I regarded the suitcases at the entrance.
Her hazel eyes flew open, latching on mine with a glare. “Is this how you welcome your guests? And who the hell wants to be your girlfriend?”
“You,” I said, holding her gaze. “The mere idea of becoming Maverick’s woman thrilled you so much that you packed your things just to move in with me,”
She tossed her head back and laughed before facing me with a frown.
“Don’t delude yourself. I moved out, and since I wanted to come here before heading home, I had no choice but to bring them with me. I could’ve left them in my car, but it’s faulty and still at the mechanic. So, no, I’m not thrilled about becoming your girlfriend. Get that out of your head,”
My lips formed an ‘O’. “Same thing, Gia.”
She let out a breathy laugh while I chuckled to myself. “So…”
“What can I get you? Coffee? Wine? Water?”
“I’m okay. I have work tomorrow so I would like it if we could focus on the reason I’m here,” she paused for a second before sucking in a deep breath, her eyes rising to meet mine. “I have thought about your offer. Even though it’s completely outrageous, I mean no sane person blackmails someone to—”
“I never said I was sane, Gia. Be careful not to make the wrong assumptions,”
Her throat worked and the movement fascinated me. “Right. I mean. It’s pretty obvious but I’ll let that be,”
She straightened, chin up, nose high in the air. “I’ve agreed to be your girlfriend. Not entirely out of my own free will, considering I’m being blackmailed. But the idea isn’t entirely bad either. I get to walk away with a huge amount of money, and I’d be a fool to turn down an offer like that,”
I wriggled a finger at her. “You are smart,”
She could blame it on the blackmail all she wanted.
However, I knew it was because she had definitely gotten into a fight with Mitch and came to the conclusion that he wasn’t worth it.
That night, I was partying and meeting with my old friends when time froze, the moment she walked in. My heart thrummed in my ear like a war drum. I could still remember that night. She wore a black mini dress that clung to her figure like a second skin. I’d pushed the girl who was all over me carefully to the side, ready to approach her when that infuriating twin of mine wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her into his chest.
I was taken aback. The last time I checked, didn't he check in at the hotel with Vivienne?
The way he touched her.
And the way she ground into him.
The closeness. It was too much for someone who wasn’t single. So I followed them, captured that eye candy on camera, and a devilish idea popped into my head. And, well, here we are.
“I’m proud of you,”
Her lips lifted in a sneer. “You say it like I did something worth being proud over,”
“It’s not many times that you meet someone willing to stab their friend in the back for money. It is soap-opera worthy. Mitch will be livid,”
“I don’t care. So run me the details. How exactly do we make this work?”
“Sure you don’t want coffee?” My eyes dropped to her lips and blood rushed straight into my groin.
“This is simple. There are only two ways this can go. Either Mitch doesn’t marry Vivienne, or we beat them to it and get married first. I don’t care about the money. My only goal is to make sure Vivienne never gets her hands on it.”
“So what do we do? How do we convince everyone that our relationship is real? Mitch isn’t buying it and I don’t think Vivienne believes it either,”
I pushed to my feet and damn! Every part of my body had been itching to make skin contact with her's. That sweet floral scent hit my nose and my head almost lolled back.
It was overpowering.
Intoxicating.
Maddening.
And exactly what I needed to function.
Damn!
“What are you doing?” Her eyes widened.
“You are right, Gia,” I breathed her in. God…
“We have to make it convincing,”
“How?”
“By doing what couples do. Kiss. Making out in public. f**k loud enough for everyone to hear. Annoying everybody around us,”
“Hold up,” she held a hand out to me. “I’m not making out with you, and I won’t be having s*x with you. Maverick,”
I leaned in closer and her breath itched, my lips grazing the shell of her ear as her body stiffened. “I don’t think so, Gia. I think that before all of this is over, you’ll be the one begging me to f**k you,”
Her cheeks flamed up, her face just a few inches away from mine.
She jumped away from me, fanning her face. “It’s hot. Why is it suddenly so hot here?” She undid a few buttons on her shirt. “I need water.”
Then she rushed toward the kitchen.
I stalked behind her, a smile creeping into my face.
“Sure only water would do?”
“Y-Yes,” she stuttered.
While she wasn’t watching, fumbling with twisting the bottle’s cap, I yanked my phone out of my pocket and secretly took pictures of her.
I opened my social media account. Selected a few and captioned them.
‘I can’t wait to get married to you, my muffin. My favorite girl.”
Then I hit post.
