Ana
I always felt lost between the worlds, not being part of either my reality or the supernatural.
My name is Ana Suerman and I'm going to tell you a little about my story.
I was raised by two parents, but no, it's not the same family. The man who has always been present is called José Antônio, a high-ranking commander of the Allied international force. He was the one who gave me a family when my real family abandoned me, he was the one who taught me what it is to love, along with his wife Kate and his children, Alex and Rachel
It's not like I wasn't part of it, they made a point of giving me love, affection, more than I could ever imagine
My other father, who I'm not sure why I call him that, is known as Zaruk, that's all, his name, no one ever dared say
I've never heard your name and that, in fact, is the surname of one of the most traditional families in our world
Vampires, but not just anyone, the Zaruk family was the most powerful and influential in their midst, regardless of place, they were not just important, they were . . . Yes, I was raised by a family of vampires and in it, I have a father, and a beautiful sister who is always there when I need them most. . . Alice
Maybe that's why, due to Zaruk influence, today, at nineteen years old, I am commander of an elite team, in a very select group of the army without borders and in it, I am called alpha. No, I'm not from a pack, but I also didn't think I was commanding, for a brief moment and to maintain a cover, the largest pack in Eastern Command
This would be my biggest challenge and I didn't even know I was ready for it
“ Tomorrow you must report to district twelve to train the Alpha team, but be careful, you must be careful with them”
District twelve was my father's area of work, but there, I should only address him as commander. With the strength of some influences, he managed to leave me soon, we hadn't seen each other for a year because of my missions
Why was I called alpha? Simply because I should be an unconditional leader, put up with what others can't handle, suffer for them as well as guide them, I wasn't just a leader, but I was part of them, if something went wrong, I would be the one who would suffer the punishment.
This was the reason for the heavy training, the other members should protect their alpha, however, their alpha, regardless of the pain, the consequence, should protect their soldiers
My father's concern was about that specific team. I wasn't sure and he never confirmed it to me, but I suspected that I would have to deal with some kind of shifter ally, I just didn't know which species.
“ I'm going to put a spell to cover her smell, we can't take the risk”
I heard, early in the morning, my two parents talking. It was definitely something I should be worried about, as Zartar only appreciates when there is danger or when I echo the call spell
Like I said, I've always been wandering the worlds
“ It's risky, Zaruk”
“ It's risky for her to deal with him without being involved, she knows very well that her obedience is loyalty and it's only because of our agreement, he won't respect Ana”
“ He owes her respect”
“ You know that the last word will always be his”
“ So do what has to be done, just don't put my girl at risk”
I didn't dare go into that office, or even question why I was so worried, I decided to find out on my own, after all, I would meet whoever it was the next day.
Eight o'clock in the morning and I introduced myself to my superior, not only that, but also that elite team
Nine men, but one stood out. Her name, Nickolay, probably the leader of those men, but it doesn't give a team, she was mine
Alpha, beta and omega, coincidentally these were the patent hierarchies and I focused on that and not on the idea of shifter
Their leader, what I would call a beta, had a black, empty and angry look at the same time. I rarely felt that fear, but with him, by his side, it seemed like the fear was palpable.
My uniform was black, his was moss green and the Omegas' was brown.
The leader made a movement as if he was looking for my scent and that's when I remembered the conversation. . . He couldn't do it, I was protected, at least for now
He snorted, as if I were nothing, his expression was one of disgust, of insignificance, but I just continued there, I remained standing, like a leader
After the commander dismissed us, I tried to talk to that beta, but contempt was his response, as well as that of his entire team. Clearly I was nobody, the looks of loyalty were only given to my beta
I stopped to observe him, he was big, but in a different way, taller than normal, muscular, completely defined and had enviable mobility. It was strange because, normally, the strong were slow, the tall, even slower, but not him, he was perfect.
Without caring about me, the entire team continued their daily training as if I didn't exist, just under the beta's command, being guided by his gaze.
Not a word, not a gesture, everyone despised me, but it was only the first day, I wasn't going to give up
