Chapter 4 Her Idea

934 Words
She was left speechless. Craig grabbed her wrist, pulling her onto his lap and wrapping his large hand around her soft waist. "By then, it'll be just like this..." He playfully smiled, and with that deep, magnetic voice, he seriously discussed something filled with lust. 'Lance is standing right by the door of the smoking room, but Craig...' She bit her lip in shame, trying to push aside the awkwardness she felt. She just wanted to end this embarrassing conversation as quickly as possible, so she hurriedly said, "Okay, I... I agree." She agreed, thinking it was unlikely to happen. By the time it came, she would definitely repay him in time! ***** She spent two days at the hospital. Then she headed to Willow's home. Half an hour later, at Verdant Apartment, she asked, "Willow, I have a limited-edition Chanel tassel bag. You have great connections. Could you help me find a buyer? I want to sell it." "Didn't Craig give you that bag? You want to sell it?" "I broke up with Craig..." She had never told Willow the true nature of her relationship with Craig. Now that their agreement was over, there was even less reason to bring it up. Besides, that bag was a birthday gift from Craig. She genuinely loved that bag, but with her finances so tight, she had no choice but to part with it. "No problem, leave it to me," Willow replied. Raina nodded. "I just need money now so I can get my mom treated as soon as possible." Talking about making money, Willow got excited. "I recently got a gig planning a live dating show called Signal of Love. I pushed your profile, and the director liked the idea of you being on the show. The pay is pretty good too!" Willow held up five fingers, and Raina felt a bit tempted. "But, there's one condition. The director wants to meet you in person before the live show." Raina frowned but remained silent. In the five years since her debut, she had only appeared in three films, all minor, almost sidelined roles. Even though Craig wanted to help her, she wanted to hone her acting skills. But after getting involved with him, he wouldn't let her work anymore, so she lost those opportunities. Craig, when he was young, was a triple-award-winning actor. Later, due to family reasons, he gradually faded from the spotlight and became a powerful figure behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. He owned SkyPinnacle, currently the most influential film company in the country, controlling a significant portion of the entertainment industry. He was also the heir apparent to Jenson Group, one of the top elites at the pinnacle of power in Regalithia. However, Craig seemed to disapprove of her involvement in the entertainment industry. He preferred keeping her hidden away in his seaside villa, where they discussed lovemaking positions and s*x techniques that made her blush and her heart race. In private, he was nothing like the serious persona he had on screen. Now that she decided to pursue her career, she had to seize every chance to appear on screen. She'd take it as long as she could make money, even if it was a dating show. Willow asked, "So, are you in?" Raina's beautiful eyes were pure and resolute. "I'm in!" ***** In the back seat of the Rolls-Royce, Craig elegantly drew on his cigarette, his legs casually crossed, the tailored suit outlining his powerful calf muscles. Lance Lynn opened the car door and took a seat in the front. Ash fell silently on Craig's trousers as his eyes narrowed, his face shadowed, as if hearing a name he despised. Lance, recalling something, reported, "Ms. Powell is going to participate in a dating show called Signal of Love." Craig didn't look up, flipping through the iPad at his side. "It's George Russell's show. She's joining as an observer." Lance, gauging his boss' reaction, added, "Ms. Yeats is also in Signal of Love as one of the female contestants." Craig remained expressionless, the cigarette smoke curling upwards. The haze softened his sharp jawline. "The agreement's over. It's only natural she'd want to date." Lance continued. "She submitted her profile to Mr. George ten days ago. She's probably been planning this for a while." Craig closed the file, turning his cold gaze to the window. ***** Later that night, feeling hungry, Willow craved some pasta. Raina offered. "I'll cook for you." Willow couldn't hide her happiness. She smiled, shaking her head, and got out of bed, tying her fairy-like pink hair into a ponytail with a band. As she headed to the kitchen, her phone chimed with a text message. The contact was saved as Craig, and the message contained just two words. Craig: Come down. Raina's beautiful eyes widened in surprise. 'Craig is downstairs? At this hour, isn't he supposed to be spending time with his fiancée?' Then she got another text. Craig: In three minutes. Those three brief words were more than enough to show just how impatient he was. Raina knew Craig too well. If she didn't go down now, in three minutes, Craig's bodyguards would definitely come up and drag her down. At that point, there'd be no way to handle it gracefully. The scene would be nothing short of disastrous. She didn't want to alarm Willow with no other choice, so she lied. "Willow, we're out of eggs. I'll go downstairs to buy some, and I'll grab some milk." "Huh? But it's so late..." However, the sound of the door slamming interrupted Willow's unfinished words.
