I just carried on eating letting her talk. In any case Angelique’s eating, made the talking less complicated.
Her narration usually went back and forth so, you would need to concentrate real hard, to know what she is talking about.
Once I was done eating I told her she smells like kiway’s soup. Then I ran to my room to take cover.
Closed the door and barricaded it, cause I knew she would come after me trying to hug me so we would smell the same.
If she could catch me, then she would tell me to repeat my statement and add, that I also smell like kiway’s soup.
None of us want to smell like that stuff. It was no ordinary soup actually, it was a healing potion for internal wounds. When your in true pain. Apparently you can stomach anything.
Once I realized that she had given up I went to sleep.
In the morning I got up brushed my teeth and took one of mom’s water carrier basket, in the passage way.
I took some stale bread, fruits, vegetables, cloths, different weapons. Anything that I thought could come in handy, for cheering the tree up.
I went to my mother’s room, nocked once, on the door and said bye mom, see you later!
Then I walked back, to the kitchen to collect the carrier. Then I walked out of the hut and into the forest with my heavy load.
On the way there, some magical animals called Rogons, got a hold of some of the food, but I fought them off.
They move around in groups and are like, very small komodo dragons that can fly. With Raven black shiny colour skin that turns blue or green in the sunlight. They also have a stinger just for irritating the opponent, because they travel in groups.
They are actually mostly harmless as they eat fruits and vegetables which they can smell from miles away.
Well since I got rid of them. I must get going real quick, before I bump into something more aggressive.
When I finally made it, to kiway’s hut I was sweating from the speed walking, while carrying a heavy load. I probably smell like I did not bath.
I put the carrier, at the cave entrance as I greeted grandpa kiway. He looked at me with an amused smile, on his face but didn’t say anything.
I walked out to the tree carefully and stole a hug. It picked me up with its branches and put me, as far from itself as possible.
There was progress, because it didn’t toss me away, from itself like it would have, on its usual character, of trying to kill me.
I went back to the Cave to get some content from the carrier. I asked kiway for a dish, to arranged the fruits and vegetables, then took the cloth so that it would be, like it’s a table just above it’s roots.
I lay the cloth next to it and offered it the food. I got no response, so I took them out of the dish and put them on the cloth. I went to get the stale bread and offered it that, but I still got no response. I figured that food was useless.
I moved on, to the weapons. I stood a distance away so, it would not, think I want to cause it harm. I practiced with each weapon to entertain it.
It still didn’t seem interested. After a while, I got tired and ran out of ideas. I sat with my legs crossed, on the floor now worried again.
After a long time the tree moved and I thought maybe it wanted me to do something, for it but I heard Angie and Nehu, coming from the other side of kiway’s hut and understood why it moved.
I wonder why, I didn’t think of this before. It likes Angie.
Smiling I said, I think you have a crush on my sister. To this it responded by crossing its branches, like it was throwing a tantrum.
I looked at Angie, who was talking to kiway. While Nehu just stood to the side, playing with a blade in her hand.
I walked towards them, with a big grin on my face. As soon as Angie saw the grin she said, “what are you up to, and No! to whatever it is in that head of yours.”
Well that was not going to stop me, from using her shamelessly for my experiment. I got to her and hugged her then said, I made a promise to a friend and now I have to keep it.
She looked at me side ways.
Who did you make a promise to and how am I involved in your promise.
The friend only seems to be interested in you so I promised
To get him a date. You just have to sit on that blanket under the tree and wait for him. While I go get him.
Angelique looked at me like I had two heads. Then said, “first of all I am not going anywhere near your friend over there.”
I don’t like his manners and if there is an actual guy, he could come to me where ever I am.
Realizing that I was failing to trick her and she has caught on. I started to beg. Okay I can do your chores tomorrow if you just talk to the tree, Angie please.
She looked at me funny. All this for a tree that nearly killed you! Carter what is wrong with you?
Angie the tree is fading because you are angry at it. It only moves when your around, so it is trying to behave.
Today I gave it a hug and it didn’t try to kill me just removed me, gently with its branches. It needed space, so it moved me away from it.
She looked at me with serious eyes and said how gently. Cause you look tired and dirty.
That had nothing to do with the tree. I got myself dirty and sweaty trying to entertain it. It only removed me gently this morning.
Okay I dare you to go give it a hug again. This time it will be weird because I know it’s a guy. She didn’t answer just gave me a look so I bargained.
Okay if I hug it then, you also have to hug it . She gave me a one word answer. No!
Okay if not a hug at least a leaf hand shake. Again a one word answer. No! Angie, you got to give something.
Angie said, “I will start greeting it.” Then I added, and maybe a smile for your little brothers sake. Okay deal now go.
She was in quiet a hurry, to get me to the tree. For someone, who thinks the tree will harm me.
I Pretended that it was hard, by looking all weirded out, when I was facing them, but when I faced the tree, I was the happiest. Obviously the tree was now stuck.
With me giving it a proper hug, and Angie will end up doing more, than giving it a greeting. I just had to push it, in that direction over time.
I got to the tree and gave it a hug and it let me be. Angie then said you see the tree doesn’t like you, it’s not even giving you a hug back.
Yet it expects me to smile at it. When I turned around, to protest and say she was going back on our deal.
The tree brought down, its leafy branches and hugged me back.
