Chapter 3
Sitting in his chambers, Garro sat at his deck; a floating metal sheet filled with various data slates and other important documents.
Garro stared out of his giant window to see all the stars and planets zooming pass.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?”
“Yes, Garro,” Kortana replied.
“Just think if we fail, beauty will be a thing of the past,”
Kortana sat beside in a beautiful holographic form. Her blond hair hovered in the air. Her long golden ball dress engulfed the floor.
“Have faith, my friend,”
Torical and Maura entered the chambers. Everyone nodded at acknowledged each other.
“Come on, everything ends. Friendships, species, life. Maybe it’s humanity’s turn,”
“Garro, we almost destroyed the Larannthans. The largest fraction of the Order. Everyone thought that that was suicide, but we did it as a team,” Maura pointed out.
“True but had information too. It wasn’t a complete surprise,”
“Grand Master, I thought we had information on Earth,” Torical inquired.
“Tell him, Kortana,” Garro waved.
“Ever since before the Ghost System fell, Earth has been on radio silence. We keep sending messages, but we get nothing in return. In fact, our message doesn’t even get read or received,”
“So, we know nothing. Earth could be preparing for war, getting attacked for a day, a week or a month. Earth could be lost or still fighting,” Torical slowly said.
Everyone nodded.
Maura stood up: “We can’t lose our faith. For if we lost our faith, then the men do and so do our allies, then humanity is truly lost. We are the last hope for humanity. There is no one else. Everyone other force is either destroyed or already at Earth per the protocol that we’ll all be psycho-conditioned to response to if the system fell. Thankfully, our minds are strong, but I doubt others are left free,”
“She is right. We need to have faith or humanity is already lost,” Torical said.
“Everyone’s right. We are all cogs in this machine. We are all pawns in the Great Game. We can’t let them get us into checkmate,”
“Garro, we’re an hour away from Earth,” Kortana reported.
“My friends, my family- we march to war. Even if Earth has fallen, we need to make the Order remember how wrathful I can be,”
Everyone nodded.
“Admiral Torical, prepare the ships for immediate attacking when we leave Slidespace. Maura, help Torical please, and prepare the bridge for the attack. Kortana, finish the preparations and keep trying. The Republic must know we’re coming and the Ciarog are our allies,”
Everyone acknowledged their duties and left to fulfill them.
“What will you do Garro?” Kortana said, caringly.
“Think,”
