CHAPTER 2

“Am I that handsome” Jayden asked suddenly, smiling and looking at her with a teasing eyes

Anna choked on her saliva immediately “ what.. what.. do.. you mean”? She stuttered asking clearly taken aback with the question he asked

Jayden’s mouth curved into a slow smile. The intention was to tease her and he loved the reaction he's getting out of her.

“Well, you've been staring at me and smiling to yourself all this while, so I just wondered if my presence affected you that much.

Her lips parted to talk but nothing came out.

He smiled at her sweetly and stood up from where he knelt, packed the box back and said “ you are really pretty a lot when you smile, do you know that”? He asked on his way back after dropping the box back to where it was.

“ I guess you don't, " he replied himself without even giving her a chance to.

He looked at her with a smirk and checked his wristwatch, after that, he declared that he wanted to be on his way. “ I've got somewhere really important to get to” he said to her making his way towards the door.

“I’ll walk you!” she said all of a sudden, like a baby that's grounded and finding any means to get out

“Nah you don't have to do that, he turned back facing her, “ I can find my way and I definitely don't wanna overwork those pretty little hands of yours. He said as he slipped out of the door.

She smiled to herself with what he just said before retiring lazily on the bed, her mind drifting with many thoughts.

Whatever this feeling inside her was… it wasn’t innocent anymore. It wasn't the feeling of just a friend anymore.

And she knew it.

Anna was seen sitting on the hood of Drake's Black car ( her sneaky link) , laughing and giggling at something he'd said with his hand resting firmly on her thigh, her hands around his neck, and her legs wrapped round him in a romantic way.

The street was busy, people going to and fro, small talks and giggles, while some people's whole focus was on them, but she didn't care.

She had always been someone who didn't care about people's opinion anyway.

“So,” Anna tilted her head, smiling and getting closer to him even more like he'd disappear any minute. “ Am I the only one?” she asked with her whole focus on him.

He chuckled loudly, using his fingers to draw his hairs backwards hotly which made her bite her lips.

He wasn't so bad of a man himself. Girls whispered about him. He's the kind of guy that would rather send money on errands he's supposed to run himself.

“Well… not really.” He smiled, shrugging

“Its not my fault that girls throw themselves at me okay, too much for a young handsome, and rich guy and he and Anna laughed loudly at what he'd just said.

“ But trust me, " he added , beating his chest, "it's only you in here.

Anna smirked to herself like she'd just won a lotto. She's already been scared she wouldn't find a guy as hot as Jayden already but here he is……his opponent.

She had been so engrossed in her thought that she hadn't noticed he was talking to her all this while and then the next thing she felt was a hit on her thigh.

“What the hell , Drake?” She gasped suddenly in shock and pain.

“ Don't what the hell me” he raised his voice enough to draw attention “ I'm right here in front of you Anna and you had the audacity to be zoning out on me? You're thinking about another man, you're so disrespectful and irresponsible, he said glaring hard at her.

Anna saw that the way he was shouting was not only attracting eyes but it's making people judge like she's having an affair with her husband, so she decided to touch him but the latter shifted back so hard that she almost lost her balance and fell.

Without even sparing her a glance, he dragged her down from his car and drove off.

She stood there for like minutes watching his car retreating, and after a few minutes, she could only sigh and moved closer to the road to find a taxi to carry her home.

After a few minutes of waiting, a car pulled up in front of her and Jayden came out of it. Her expression changed to that of an annoyed one instantly but she decided to mask it when he got closer to her.

“Hey baby” she put on a fake smile and was about to hug him when he pushed her away, tired of her pretence.

“ Let's just end this Anna”

Her mind went blank immediately .
