THE HEART I DIDN'T SEE

THE CONSEQUENCE OF THEIR FIGHT

Scene: The bustling hallway of Starlight Academy, filled with the chatter of students and the clang of lockers. Derek and Raven stand face-to-face, their faces flushed with anger.

Derek: (his voice laced with sarcasm) Well, well, well, if it isn't the spoiled little prince. Always getting what you want, huh?

Raven: (his eyes flashing with fury) You're just jealous because your parents can't afford to buy you everything you want.

Derek: (a sneer twisting his lips) At least I'm not a whiny, entitled brat who throws tantrums whenever things don't go his way.

Raven: (stepping closer, his voice dropping to a menacing growl) You're one to talk, Mr. Perfect. You're just a stuck-up, arrogant jerk.

Derek: (lunging forward, his fist connecting with Raven’s jaw)

Raven: (staggering back, his hand flying to his jaw)

**A crowd gathers, their whispers turning to gasps as the fight escalates. The school principal rushes to the scene, attempting to break up the brawl. **

Principal: (his voice booming) Enough! This is unacceptable! Both of you to my office immediately!

Derek and Raven, bruised and panting, are escorted to the principal’s office, where their parents are waiting, their faces grim.

Derek's Father: (his voice stern) I can't believe this. We've always taught you to be respectful, Derek. What happened?

Raven's Mother: (her voice laced with disappointment) Raven, what were you thinking? This is completely out of character for you.

Principal: (presenting a detailed account of the fight) Gentlemen, this is a serious matter. This behavior is unacceptable, and we will not tolerate it in this school.

Derek's Father: (his eyes locking with Raven's father)

Raven's Father: (nodding in agreement)

Derek's Father: (after a tense silence) I think we need to take a more serious approach to this. We've discussed this before, and it's clear that both of you need a wake-up call.

Raven's Father: (his voice firm) I concur. We need to teach them a lesson about responsibility and consequence.

Principal: (nodding) I agree. I suggest a period of community service. Perhaps working at the cafe in the province?

Derek and Raven, their faces pale with dread, are left with no choice but to accept the punishment. They are sent to work at a cafe in the province, a world away from their privileged lives
