Chapter 4

Damon's P.O.V (First try on Damon's P.O.V, let's go)

HAAAAA, finally home and away from all those humans. How does Mia and Fred handle all this every single day without failing to devour one as a meal? I guess since they've been at longer than I have already. They must have been surprised by my behavior today since I've always been ruthless, unforgiving and short tempered. The only reason I can think of being responsible for my behavior was because of HER.

Being so lost in my thoughts is not like me but I can't seem to help it lately. I'm not in the mood for this I just want to get home as soon as possible, I'm hungry. It was hard enough already trying ton hold back at school, especially with her addicting scent and blood.

"Aunty I'm home."

"Oh, welcome home sweetie." Aunty Julie

"I feel so much better now that I'm home."

"Why, did something happen at school? Even though it was only a silly excuse to see 'her'." Aunty Julie

"No, it's just not comfortable being around so many humans at once, even when I'm around her and her friends, it was hard to restrain myself from devouring each and every one of them."

"Ah, no wonder you're in a foul mood, your hungry. There's a fresh catch in the basement if you'd like." Aunty Julie

"Oh yes, thank you aunty. Let me just go change and get comfortable then I'll go down and eat."

"Alright sweetie." Aunty Julie

To be completely honest, the only people who see this type of sweet behavior from are Aunty Julie and her husband Joshua. The rest of my people know me as the Demon Prince since I am not as kind as I used to be when I was still a mere human being and now that I've found her it seems as though I'm changing slowly and it's becoming uncomfortable for my liking.

The day I lost my whole family to the vampires, aunt Julie and her husband Joshua found me while on a hunt. They were different from all the other vampires. They refused to accept the ways of the vampire kingdom and only hunted bad humans such as, murderers, kidnappers and such, but I drink all kinds of human blood. But soon enough that will change, since soon enough I'll only be able to live off her blood and nothing else.

I only found out what they were when I turned 13 and surprisingly I accepted them since I lost my family to vamps but they saved me and I am still entirely grateful to them up to this day.

That same day, when I found out, I asked them to change me. At first they refused and asked for my reason and I didn't know myself but the images of how my family was slaughtered I knew then it was because I wanted revenge.

They did as I asked of them and was reborn as one of them and at the age of 13 I went after those that killed my family and the kingdom accepted me as their new ruler due to showing so much power at that young age.

I still grew up as a normal teenager and stopped ageing at 18 which was a few years ago but it was not expected of me to change the way I did. I had only made up that I was home schooled so that I can see her, so I had to endure being in a school filled with food all around me.

I didn't know it at first until that one night I decided to go hunting. I had just gotten back from having a meal and that was when I smelt the most amazing scent of cherries and roses, that was carried out through the cool night breeze.

As I decided to follow the scent, I stopped immediately upon sighting her. She was the most beautiful women I had ever come across. She had a beautiful pair of gray eyes and long brown hair that curled at the tips, lips as red as blood and perfectly plump. A cute button nose and rosey cheeks.

I couldn't get enough of the sight of her as she walked down the quiet street. I followed her as she got close to home. As she had turned to look behind her probably having felt me following, I hid as she looked behind her. Turning back upon getting a fright at the sound of her phone.

She continued on home and I continued to follow. The only thoughts going through my mind during following her were, when do I get to have her by my side as she ruled beside me as my queen. But she's human the one thing I use to satisfy my own needs and certain other things and show no mercy towards.

As she had made it to her home, I made my presence known to her but kept my distance. She seemed curious and moved closer but I had to get out of there my heart couldn't take it so I headed home. It was the very first time ever since becoming a vampire that I was that nervous of being so close to a human.

This human is my mate and I have to rule soon as king and I have her, a mere human as my MATE?! This can't be happening, why has fate been so cruel to me by giving me a human mate? I certainly cannot afford to have her as mate, what will my people think of their soon to be king?

Only I can't the feeling of always wanting to be around her or even just having a small glance towards her. Honestly I really don't know what to do anymore when it comes to her ever since seeing her for the very first time last night and again today.

All this is just making me more frustrated then I already am. I shook my head and headed in my bathroom to take a shower then get dressed. Once I was done I went down to the basement so I could eat. As I walked into the basement and the door of it slammed behind me. Getting closer to the cell the human was kept, I could sense their fear flowing out in waves and this made me grin.

The one thing that always gave me the most satisfaction was seeing the fear in the eyes of my prey as I sink my fangs into the necks and drain every drop of blood in their bodies. Walking closer to the cell I could hear the sound of the human's heart beat, loud and fast, which brought me more satisfaction.

Just as I was right in front of the cell doors the human looked up in fear and I could hear her heart beating more rapidly and I was surprised it didn't jump out of her chest already by how fast it was beating.

"Hello there." I said as I proceeded to open to the door and walk inside.

"P-please l-let me g-go!" Girl

She whimpered and whined, tears flowing down her cheeks as she backed away from me to hide in a corner. I smirked and walked in closer and grabbed her closes to me teasingly nipping at her neck making her cry more.

"Shh, don't be afraid I'll make sure to make it less painful."

"P-please don't do t-this! LET ME GO PLEASE!" Girl

She began to thrash around in my arms putting me in more of a bad mood then I already was, due my hunger and her resistance was getting on my nerves.

"Stop being so stubborn and behave or I'll break make it more painful than it already is!"

She began to cry more as I sunk my fangs into her neck and started to drink. This is how I've always been when it comes to humans when feeding, it gets even worse when I'm in bad mood as of right now. I griped onto her throat and squeezed to the point of losing her air supply, she gasped and tried preying my hand from her neck which made me even more pissed and I bit down harder into her neck.

"AAAHHHH!!!!" Girl

The screaming continued on 'till her body fell limp and her breathing stopped, her heart no longer beating and her eyes wide open, lifeless and blood dripped down from where my teeth were still attached. It was a disgusting sight but it didn't phase me at all, I was used to it already. Detaching my fangs, I dropped her body down and dragged it to the place where I dump the bodies after eating, one of my servants will come and clean it up later tonight.

I walked out of the basement and went back up to the kitchen, Aunty Julie was standing by the stove preparing supper. Even though we are vampires we still chose to eat human food and it became a habit for us since Aunt Julie used to cook for me all the time when I was still human. As I walked in, I went to the kitchen counter and took a seat in one of the stools.

"Oh, you're done. Did you enjoy lunch?" Aunt Julie

She asked as she turned around at the sound of the stool being moved.

"Yeah, she was a bit resistant though but still satisfied my hunger."

"I'm glad. although she was like that even after we caught her." Aunt Julie

"What was her crimes?"

I ask this every time they bring back a human to eat. We do only eat those who commit crimes and other bad deeds, not the innocent but it is still hard for me to control myself around other humans.

"She was a thief, repast of you boys and she's been on the run for the past 2 years after murdering an entire family after being found robbing their home." Aunt Julie

"Wow was she one big trouble maker. By the way, where Uncle?"

"He'll be back soon. He's just taking care of a few things back in the office." Aunt Julie

"Okay."

My uncle is actually my supervisor ever since I became the prince, soon to be king once I have my queen. So he's been helping me out a lot ever since becoming a vampire. He was the supervisor of the previous king until I killed him and now he's mine. At first not many of the vampire people accepted a 'newborn' to be ruling over them but as I had shown the strength no kung has ever shown, I was accepted, all thanks to the people who saved me and gave their support.

Aunt Julie and I spent most of the time talking as she continued to cook and soon Uncle Joshua came home and we had supper soon going bed after helping clean up the kitchen. As I walked back to my room, I let my mind wander back to cute little human mate. Yes, I may still be disappointed that she is a human and a damn vampire hunter at that, I still want to keep her and make her mine. Only how will I get my people to accept her as my Aunt and Uncle have already?

Thinking about all this is staring to make my head hurt. Deciding not to dwell on it any longer, I entered my room and went straight to my closet to get a fresh set of clothes and head in the bathroom for a hot shower. Once I was done washing up I changed and got into bed. I tried falling asleep but out of the blue this uneasy feeling started eating away at my gut and that only meant one thing, something was wrong with her.

Suddenly images started appearing in my head with the sound of someone crying and screaming, bodies on a bed, blood everywhere, vampire close to the bodies. It felt as though seeing things out of someone else's eyes only I felt everything that person felt: fear, sadness, anger, hate and many other negative emotions all in one. My breathing became uneven and I felt like breaking down and cry my heart out.

The minute it all stopped I jumped out of bed, changed then ran out of the house and I could hear Aunt Julie calling me in the distance from running out this late at night. I didn't care at that moment all I wanted was to get to her as soon as possible. Hang on Tessa I'll be there soon. I thought as I ran as fast as I could already knowing where her house was. I jumped through an open window, maybe she forgot to close it I'm not sure, I searched the whole of the bottom floor and soon moved upstairs.

The first room I came across was the room I saw in the images, I'm guessing this might be her parents' room. It looked clean as though nothing happened and that no one was in here for the entire day. Confused I moved onto the next room, a bathroom, then closet with beddings and others then the last room was Tessa's bedroom. It would rude to invade my mate's private space but I need to know if she's okay.

Walking inside there was no sign of her being in the room, other then her scent that was heavenly strong inside. I took a deep breath in enjoying the delightful scent of cherries and roses that helped calm down this strong feeling of fear and panic. Seeing as she was not in her room or in the rest of the house I left but was still felt worried and I needed to know if she's alright.

Once I had left I caught her scent coming from the house next to her own along with the scent of her best friend, Jeremy was it. Somehow just the thought of them together made me feel, I don't know jealous maybe. I don't think I can handle Tessa having a guy bestfriend, 'cause if I'm not around it practically makes him her boyfriend as she would lean on him when she has problems or spend time with him going out and stuff so yeah, call me the jealous type but I am.

I know we aren't even dating yet but still, she's my mate and mine regardless. Not wanting to anger myself more about her bestfriend I shook my head and climbed up to the balcony that was on the side of the house. From where I stood on the balcony I could see her talking to him while she was in his arms, thank god it was dark so they didn't catch sight of me. Seeing her in another mans arms pissed me off but when I saw the tears that steamed down her cheeks my heart softened which is definitely the first for me.

I listened in closely as she spoke about the nightmare she had of her parents and of how it reminded her of how her brother was killed. Hearing her speak with such a broken voice and seeing her in that state broke my heart. I wanted nothing more than to hold her in my arms and tell her everything was going to be alright and that I'll protect her with everything in my power.

Soon enough after they spoke, Tessa looked as though she was fighting sleep as she spoke. She tried getting back into bed with Jeremy sitting on the blanket. He chuckled, picked her up, much to my displeasure, opened up the bed and place her down. Soon he got into the bed and held her as she fell asleep. At that moment as he held her I was beyond pissed, she's supposed to be in my arms not his!

Since I couldn't calm down and was definitely not going to go home like this so, I ran into the woods and chased after a deer since I couldn't calm down. Once I had it I drank it's blood calming me down a bit. It really gets on my f*****g nerves on how she makes me feel all kinds of emotions I don't want to feel. It's so hard to try and act as if everything is okay when definitely is not.

First I get paired up with a f*****g human as a mate and I live in a damn society of vampires who use humans to their own pleasure and desire. Me being a prince, soon to be king, to be the one to set an example for his people. Then I've got to deal with these damn emotions that I haven't felt since becoming a vampire. WHY DID MY LIFE HAVE TO TURN OUT THIS WAY!?

Sighing I stood up from where I was feeding from the deer. It's body limp as I dropped it to the ground. Being as mad as I was, I was covered in blood and looked like a real mess. Feeling a bit calmer I ran back home before the sun came up. Once I was home and in my room, I went straight to my bathroom and took a shower to get rid of all the blood. Once I was clean I got out after wrapping a towel around my waist and proceeded to brush my teeth then headed out to get dressed.

Walking towards my closet and took out a pair of black ripped jeans with a black skull T-shirt and a black and gray checked shirt around my waist with my black convers. Once I was done I walked out of my room and made my way downstairs towards the kitchen. Aunt Julie and Uncle Joshua were already up and Aunt Julie was making breakfast.

"Good morning."

I greeted as I walked in taking a seat next to my uncle as he drank his coffee and read his newspaper.

"Good morning Damon." Aunt Julie

"Damon what happened last night that made you run out like that and only come back at the c***k of dawn? You scared both me and your aunt, you know." Uncle Joshua

"I'm sorry I didn't mean for you guys to get such a fright, but well what happened was...."

I then told them everything in what I saw as I was at home then running over to Tessa's place and the rest of the events that happened last night. At first they were really surprised since this is the first time this ever happened between mates which was really weird. I was confused on why this would be happening between Tessa and I and also this strange vampire that keeps haunting her dreams.

As we all sat, while having breakfast and trying to figure out what this means, a thought suddenly came to mind which might just be a hunch but also true.

"Hey Uncle Josh, the treaty that was made between the former king and the witches, is it still in place?"

"Yes, it is still there but we have not made any exchangers ever since you became prince." Uncle Joshua

"Hmm....do you possibly know the reason behind this?"

"No...since then there has been no word. It would seem that since you are the new leader, you would have to recreate the said treaty and many other alliances we have." Uncle Joshua

"I understand. Then this weekend we will proceed in doing so, first starting at the nearest clans, cults and packs."

"Yes it will be done immediately." Uncle Joshua

"Alright, my precious Aunt Jewels, thank you for the lovely breakfast I'll be heading out now. Goodbye I'll see you later at the castle."

"It's always a pleasure my darling." Aunt Julie

"Yes, see you then." Uncle Joshua

I placed my dishes in the sink, kissed Aunt Julie on the cheek and headed upstairs to brush my teeth once again and grab my things. Once I had everything I left for school, well making a stop first. Only when I had got there I caught the scent of another vampire that I did not recognize. The dark dominating aura he gave off was intense. I couldn't move a single muscle as I stared at him, not being able to see his face due to a mask.

I was only able to remove my sights as I heard the sound of keys and a bag falling to the ground. Snapping my head in the direction, I saw Tessa on her knees with fear and horror written all over her beautiful face. At that her bestfriend rushed to her side trying to snap her out of the trance she had put her self in due to the fear.

The minute she turned to him, Tessa burst into tears and clutched to her friend. I wanted nothing more then to run over, take her in my arms and comfort her. But that thought flew right out the window when I saw her friend pick her up and carry her to his car while balancing her things along with his to the car. He placed her in the passenger seat and moved quickly to the drivers' then driving off to school.

Looking back to where the vampire stood I swore at that moment to put my life down for her if need be to protect her from him. I soon then drove off to school in a fast pace. Once at school I parked my bike and stood at the entrance of the school building, ignoring the people that walked past me as I was only waiting for one person only. When I caught sight of her friends car I jumped up and walked towards it as they parked.

When Tessa got out of the car I could see it in her eyes of how numb she felt. Not minding her best friend, I walked up to her and took her in my arms. She seemed to be startled at first but then leaned into me and returned the embrace and burst into tears once more.

"Shhh. It's okay, I'm here, he can't hurt you, he won't hurt, I will never allow it."

She looked up at me confused with the silent question on how I knew but all I did was smile reassuringly at her and cupped her face as she looked deep into my eyes if searching if she can fully trust me.

"As long as I'm alive, I will protect you with my life. Nothing will stand in my way when it comes to you, understand?"

She nodded then went to hold onto me tighter as I did as well and all in that moment I thought about her and only my gorgeous mate. I will protect her from any kind of harm and NOTHING is going to stop me at any costs at all.
