CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT I thought the interview would be a more one-on-one kind of thing but apparently it was different. Twenty five candidates, all extremely gorgeous werewolves, and me, sat in what seemed like a ballroom. A few of them had thrown me pretty pathetic looks, clearly feeling sorry for me. Only if they knew I had practically been handed this job on a platter and was only doing the favor of attending the interview on my own volition. For once I felt powerful; like there were no stakes against me. Tristan came down, dressed in a casual fit and I could hear a few murmurs of open desire around me. He seemed quite aware of the effect he was having on the people here. I was excluded of course. Being among wolves and knowing I was the only human, did not scare me like it should. A no
