CHAPTER THREE "I need to return back to my family. You should go home too Elaine, he will be okay, Dr. Paige said so himself, you need the rest" James Tucker said to her. "Don't worry Mr. Tucker, I'm fine here" Elaine smiled. "Well, if you say so. I can't force you to leave can I?" He chuckled, he looked through the glass at the man lying in the bed breathing slowly but steadily "where did he come from? I have not seen him around here before." Elaine stood up from her chair and looked at the man too "maybe he came from Countryside?" "I don't think so. Look at all his wounds, all the scratches on his body, those things can only be done by tree branches. Whoever he is, I think he came running from the woods. Look at that ghastly hole in his tummy, I wonder what did that. It's great Dr. Paige said he can treat him, if not, he has to go to Countryside to receive the best treatment, that's if he could survive till he gets there." Elaine stared at the man and sighed "I hope it doesn't come to that." James looked at her "he should really be glad you found him. With the way he looked, I doubt if he would have made it till morning lying in that street, we would have just awoken to find a dead man in Folktown. A stranger at that." "He is only a stranger now, by the time he wakes up, he will be able to say where he came from." "Ah that's true. Well" he squeezed her shoulder "see you later Elaine and you should get some rest too." Elaine smiled "I will Mr. Tucker, thank you for your help tonight." "Ah, it's nothing. Where is my rifle girl?" He looked around and Elaine picked it from the wall and handed it to him "this is from father, I can't afford to lose it" he smiled "well, see you again Elaine" he then walked out of the clinic. Elaine watched him leave before sighing and pushing open the door to the room, she entered and stared at the man lying in the bed, she was mesmerized at his beauty. Even though he looks like hell with all the bandages and scratches on his body, one can still make out how handsome he is. She had never seen a man as handsome as him with his pitch black hair, his perfect nose and his sexy, enchanting lips. She has always thought Jasper has the most beautiful lips but this man's own, is to die for. Her fingers involuntarily caressed the lips and she marveled at how soft it feels, she couldn't help but imagine how it will feel on her lips or body, she shuddered and mocked herself for thinking such a thing with a stranger. She sat in the chair in the room and slowly watched his face to sleep. Waking up the next morning, Elaine's mind was distorted as she tried to make out where she was before remembering she was in the clinic and had helped a handsome stranger, she looked at the bed immediately but only to freeze when she saw the most beautiful set of blue eyes watching her, his eyes were clear and blue like the ocean, it has an enchanting feeling like it was pulling her to come and have a swim in its silent waters. The door opening brought Elaine out of her enchantment and she looked at the door to see Dr Paige, she stood up immediately. "Ah, you both are awake" Dr Paige smiled. "Good morning" Elaine greeted. "Good morning Elaine. How are you this morning?" Elaine nodded "I'm okay." Paige smiled "now how about our stranger?" They both looked at the man who have been watching them all along as if trying to see their soul with just one look "how are you feeling?" The man nodded "Elaine here saved your life along with the help of James Tucker, they brought you here, if not. You would have been a dead man by now." The stranger looked at Elaine with his silent deep blue eyes "thank you" he mumbled. Elaine smiled "it's nothing. I just want you to get better now so you can return to your home." Paige nodded "exactly. We can help you contact your family if you just tell us how to find them or maybe a name?" The stranger looked at him silently before shaking his head slowly "I don't know." Paige looked surprised "you don't know?" He looked at Elaine and she was shocked too before looking back at the man "where do you come from?" "I can't remember" he answered in a whisper. Paige was shocked this time "what about your name?" The stranger was silent before saying "Thomas." Paige smiled "well, Thomas who?" "I don't remember." "Hmm" Paige frowned "how did you get here Thomas?" Thomas looked like he was thinking but winced after "it hurts to remember." "That says it then" Paige sighed. "What is it Dr Paige?" Elaine asked worriedly. "Well Elaine, I think Thomas here has amnesia and remembers nothing but his name." "What?" Elaine was shocked "can't he try to remember?" "If you force him to remember, he will only be in pain. It will give him headache should he force himself, so the best option is to leave him and let the memory come to him itself." "But, will he still remember?" "Of course, it's just with time. He will remember, he only needs to avoid stressing himself so much and just let the memories come to him." "This just got a whole lot harder. How are we going to get him back if he can't remember his memories?" "Well, he just needs to stay in Folktown till he does" Paige said and looked at the man in the bed and smiled "welcome to Folktown Thomas."
