"How was your first night here?" Namjoon asks as soon as I let him in. "Fine." I huff as we walk back into my kitchen before I toss my plate into the sink. Namjoon deeply sighs while frowning. "I take it Mr. Rorey didn't...satisfy your palate." "He tastes just like the last man I ate before I came to this town." "Foul." "I wish I could bring you someone that could satisfy you but-" I put my hand up to stop him from saying any more. "Don't blame yourself. I can only enjoy what you give me, right? It's part of the deal." "Jin-" "I can eat other people...but it can only be the ones that don't deserve to live..." "I find it saddening that I can't bring you anyone that you would enjoy...even if your liking for human flesh is abnormal." I sadly smile. "The only abnormal thing I see is that someone as kind as you has been my friend for all these years. You were never disgusted with me." "And I never will be, my friend." He smiles. "Come, I'll walk with you to the office before I go to the prison." He claps before handing my jacket to me. "Explain it to me." He suddenly says as we start walking. "Explain what?" I glance at him before we cross the street. "What about...flesh makes you enjoy it?" "Honestly, I hated the idea of it. It revolted me." "What changed?" He raises a brow. "The regular meats. Beef, chicken, or even rabbit never made me feel good to eat it. I actually hated it." I sigh. "Then, one night my father cooked and...I remember this aroma that made my mouth water. I didn't even know what it was that he fed me and I didn't care to even ask." "When did he tell you about it?" Namjoon asks with a slightly concerned expression. "He didn't have a choice but to. I woke up in the middle of the night and heard your father talking to mine. Everything continued on from there." "But you're not getting that same indulgence like when you were younger, are you?" I shake my head and sigh in defeat. "I almost started to think it may be due to the fact that I'm actually sick of eating it but...that's not the case." "You want something different. Something new." Namjoon mutters as if he were inside my mind.  I nod. "But I can't because it will ruin the deal our fathers had. Not to mention it might ruin our friendship." "Including the risk of the town's people going into a riot. It's best if they keep thinking a disease is what will be taking some of the prisoners away." "You're right," I mutter before we stop outside of the office. "I'll see you tonight before I go home." He says before walking off. "Welcome, Dr. Jin!" My new assistant, Karen, bows as soon as I walk in. "Hello, Karen. It's nice to meet you." I shake her hand. "Your first patient is already inside. She arrived not too long ago." She says while handing me the file with the patient's form inside. I nod. "Thank you." While opening the door to the room, my eyes were on the document. "Hello, Ms. Lavana More. I'm Dr. Kim Seokjin, But you can just call me Dr. Jin, I'll be-" My eyes widen when I look at her after shutting the door behind me. "H-Hello." She shyly smiles. My eyes wander from those plump cheeks to her arms that sit just right in the sleeves of her dress. "D-Dr. Jin?" "Oh, I apologize." I have to clear my throat before looking back at her file. "It says here you've been having some back pain." I sit in front of her on the stool and tense up more than I should have. The sudden sunlight shining through the window hits her light brown skin and dark locks so perfectly. "D-Dr. Jin, are you alright?" What is this? This sudden harsh pounding in my chest while my hands feel...tingly. "I'm fine." I smile a bit before noticing how flushed her face looks. "Ms. More, are you wearing a corset?" Her eyes widen a bit. "Y-Yes." "I can tell. Judging from the color in your face, you're not getting enough oxygen. Would you mind taking it off before I proceed with a physical examination?" She shyly glances down at her hands in her lap. "It's just for your examination, Ms. More. I promise." I gently tell her. "Come, I'll help you." I take her soft hands in mine while trying not to notice how plump and warm they feel. She flinches a bit when I slowly start to undo her dress before fully removing it. I try not to sound so loud when I harshly breathe in her chubbiness. A hint of relief in her gasp is let out when I remove her corset. The pudginess of her stomach makes me want to touch her more. I want to feel the rest of her potentially soft skin in my hands along with her thighs. I take a deep breath before telling her to lay down. The lack of sunlight makes me notice the dark purple coloring on her back. Some looking as if they continue to her stomach. My hand twitches at the sight of them but I force myself to not ask. I'm quite sure she would press blame onto the wearing the corsets too tightly. My insides feel hot and heavy when she lets out a whimper when my hands slowly touch her back. "D-Dr. Jin-" "It's just a little massage to help with the pain before I continue. Is that alright?" She seems to hesitate before giving a little nod. I bite my lip as I try to not enjoy the settle gasps and moans that leave her rosy lips. I feel an instant need to keep my hands on her when I finally stop. My mind and body must be making me lose some of my sanity when I think I also see a bit of disappointment in her face. "I'm going to ask you some questions, alright?" I ask after helping her put her dress back on and making sure her corset was not too tight. "A-Alright." She nods before we sit again. "Have you been having these back pains for a while?" "Yes." "And what do you think caused it?" I don't want to assume things. "I-I think it's just a bad bed we maybe." She shyly fiddles with her dress. I can't help but raise a brow. "We?" "Oh, yes. My significant other and I have been living together." I try to not express my slight irritation when I still see her bruises almost right in front of my eyes even as she wears her dress. "Ms. More...I noticed some bruising around your back and stomach." She tries to remain as composed as she can but I still see it. I see that fear in her eyes. It's as clear as day. It's that same kind of fear my own victims have right before or while I cut into them. "I-It must be from my recklessness with my corsets." She avoids my eyes while still looking at her hands. I just nod. "Alright then. I recommend not wearing any corsets for the time being until your back is better and your bruising is gone. Okay?" She gives a little smile as she nods. After walking her to the door, she thanks me one more time before taking her leave. "Is there a problem, Karen?" I notice how disgusted she appeared. "I do hope she was here in concern to her...weight." "And why is that?" I ask in the calmest tone I can give. "I mean," She scoffs before snickering.  "You saw her, the poor thing looked like her corset was ready to pop." "Ms. Karen, I advise you watch what you say about my patients." She frowns while looking full of shame and hesitation. "I care deeply about my patients, so I'd prefer you to not insult them. Am I clear?" She nods. **** "That's odd for you to do," Namjoon comments as I check over the next patient in the prison's medical room. "What is?" I mutter while checking the patient's breathing. "You never reacted when someone would say anything ill about a patient. You usually ignore it." I shrug. "I just felt the need to say something." "Was she that breathtaking?" "What?" I glance at him. "Was she lovely? She must have really caught your eye." I can tell he's smirking even though I'm not looking at him. "She has a significant other that she lives with. I was simply defending a patient, that's all. Wouldn't you defend a patient that's clearly sensitive to her body type." He nods. "You've got a point." I hear him sigh as soon as the patient leaves the room before the door is shut behind him. "Did she look...appetizing?" My mind makes me see her all over again. I see how soft her skin looked and almost still feel her in my hands. The tenderness of her skin made me want to be so fragile with her. "Very."
