I go back home in the afternoon and make myself some lunch. I say hi to my mom but she falls asleep quickly. Is she hungover again?
I decide to ignore that thought as I watch some TV. The doorbell rings so I get up and open it. It's the person I expected the least.
"Harry?" I widen my eyes.
"Hey Jenns. Can I call you Jenns?" He smirks, "I'll say it anyway."
"Why are you here?" I roll my eyes, ignoring his first statement.
"We have detention, did you forget?" he deepens his smirk, if that's possible, "I told you I'd pick you up myself."
"And how do you know my address?"
"School records." He snickers.
"That's not creepy at all.." I say sarcastically.
"Stop complaining and get in the car." He snaps and I oblige, not wanting this conversation to go on anyway.
He opens the passenger seat for me and gets inside.
He starts driving quietly, before I realize that this isn't the road to go to school.
"Where are we going?" I widen my eyes.
"A party."
"A party? But I have detention.."
"Your detention is to go to this party with me." He shrugs and my jaw drops.
Is he crazy? What kind of teacher does that?
"I don't want to go to a party." I roll my eyes.
"Do you want me to fail you?" He growls and I shake my head.
"Then we're going to a party."
I cross my arms and look away from his face. He sure can be rude. "It's at my friend Zayn's house, you'll like it." He says In a softer voice.

When we enter the house, Harry disappears into some room upstairs, leaving me to sit alone in the crowd of people. I roll my eyes and sit down on one of the couches.
I find myself getting extremely bored, so I start walking upstairs. There's an empty room so I sit down on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
My phone rings. I look at the caller ID, it's Jake. Finally he calls first.
"Hi." I pick up.
"Jennie." He sighs, sounding tired.
"Is something wrong?" I roll my eyes.
"Uh, yeah." He mutters.
"What?" I raise my eyebrow.
"I don't know how to say this but.." He trails off.
"You're cheating on me?" I continue for him.
"Kind of.. I've been seeing this girl Lilly for a while and.. I'm sorry.."
What? I didn't expect myself to be this right.
"That's perfect then, just leave the girl you've been with for over a year to be with some Lilly." I snap.
"I don't want to leave you.. I'm trying to apologize." He sounds annoyed.
"No it's okay, apology accepted, we're done." I snap again and hang up.
As soon as the call ends, it hits me. It's over, what we had is over. He cheated on me. How could he? I feel tears brimming in my eyes. We've been dating for thirteen months.. What if he's done this before and now decided to tell me? I cry quietly, putting my head in my hands. I can't believe I trusted him.
"Jenns?" Harry's voice interrupts my thoughts. When did he get here?
"Are you okay?" He asks me, his voice laced with worry, something he's never expressed before. I shake my head but keep it in my hands.
"Come on, tell me, what happened?"
"He.. he cheated.. on me.. And dumped me.." I say, in between sobs, not wanting to look at him.
"That asshole boyfriend you were talking to this morning?" He asks.
I nod, glad that he hates him.
"Who cares? He's obviously an asshole, like I said. Don't give him more of your time." He scowls at the wall.
"Yeah.. It just hurts, he wants me to forgive him.. We've been dating for more than a year." I admit.
"Forgive him? It's stupid to forgive him. You know what they say; once a cheater always a cheater. It's actually true." He shrugs.
I guess he's right, I don't expect him to have fun all of a sudden.
"Come Jennie, let me make you forget about him." He smiles, holding his arm out for me to take.
"I don't know if I want to continue like nothing happened." I frown.
He sighs, "Don't be lame, he's probably doing the same thing."
"Why do you even care?" I roll my eyes.
He looks at the ground. "I just.. I hate seeing you like this." He mutters, placing his hand on my cheek and softly wiping a tear away. I momentarily forget about Jake, about everything, as my skin tingles. I shouldn't feel this way when he touches me.
"I.. Fine." I mumble, making him smile again, and pulling me back to the party.
He takes me to the dance floor, and I giggle as he puts his arm around my waist and starts dancing with me.
"What are you doing?" I laugh.
"I can't find my friends, and you're here, and this song is awesome." He says, not stopping his movements.
"You're insane." I laugh again.
"Come on! Don't be shy, just shut up and dance with me!"
I give in and start moving to the beat, making him stop for a moment to look at me with wide eyes.
He moves closer to me and starts dancing again with his body too close to mine. I don't know what this feeling is. It's really wrong, what I'm doing, but I love it.
