Mike tries to start his day not thinking about what had happened at home the night before, uncle Joe dropped him off at school and he went about his day as normal not thinking about it.

Again in gym class Mike gets called to the office, scared out of his mind he didn't know what to think or expect Mike told the coach he didn't wanna go to the office he asked to coach to see if he çould find out what they wanted.seeing the distress in his student the coach agreed and called the office, a few moments later the coach came to Mike and said " I'm sorry bud but your step mom is here to get you", Mike turned pale white but sadly agreed hoping his step mom had seen the error of her ways and fixed everything so he won't to the office with his things.

" It's time to go buddy" Cindy exclaims to Mike with a giant smile on her face. All Mike could do was glare and think how can you act as if nothing happened are you really that evil hearted, Mike thinks to him self. As the walk to the car he is looking for his father but is to no avail he is not in the car, " Were are we going" he asks " your moving to your grandmother's " Mike Brightins up hoping his dad would be home packing and they would finally be rid of the evil step mom once and for all, he climes into the car to go home. the whole ride Cindy is just as smitten as can be.

During the drive home Cindy will not be quiet Mike is not even pay attention to her at all he only want to get home to see his dad. Finally they get on there road to the farm house Mike sits up tall hoping to see his dad and gets excited when he can see uncle Joe getting out of aunt Sandy's van but uncle Joe doesn't look like he is happy Cindy pulls up to the garage and Joe goes around to Mike's side and opens the door before Mike can get his bag off the floor " go sit with your aunt Sandy in the van ok buddy" Joe says to Mike.

Confused Mike just shakes his head yes and does as requested, the look on his uncle Joe's face was not nice at all, Mike gets to the van and gets I'm only to see aunt Sandy crying " what's wrong he asks" aunt Sandy just looks at him " would you like to come live with me and your uncle Joe bud?" she asks mike.Now he is just looking at aunt Sandy and don't know what to say at this time Mike hears uncle Joe start to yell when uncle Joe yell the hole county can hear it he was a seamen in the navy as a instructor so he has a very loud voice.

A few min go buy as Joe is yelling at Cindy Mike is just watching not sure what to think cause Cindy is just standing there with a huge smile on her face it's almost vindictive look she is giving him. finally he stops and just stands there looking at her then he looks to his van and beguine to walk toward it, at this point Cindy has not retaliated and it has Mike so confused . Joe walks up to the van and looks at Mike " did your aunt ask you something?" Mike just shakes his head yes, " well boy is that what you want?" Joe asks loudly, " more than anything" Mike responds .

Joe just stands there a min thinking he turns to Cindy " Well woman he wants to go with me" Cindy whirls around and all but charges at Joe Sandy jumps out of the van so her husband don't hit her cause Joe don't look at his sister as a female but as a cross road demon.

Cindy begins to scream "THAT LITTLE BASTARD IS GOING TO PENNSYLVANIA WEATHER OR NOT HE WANTS TO?" . Now totally confused Mike speaks up " what? why would I go there that's makes now sense!!!" Joe turns to Mike " it's were your dads mom lives and we're Cindy wants you to go" beginning to cry Mike is wondering about his dad " well what about my dad I won't be hear when he comes home?" Joe's moves the the window by mike " that's why I wanna keep you hear for your father " he exclaims " I just don't know how safe you are here anymore I will make sure your dad knows we're you are I will see him before any one." at this point mike remembers that uncle Joe is a prison janitor ," ok " Mike says " as long as my dad can find me I'll go to Pennsylvania anything to get away from super b**** over there " joe chuckles and smirks at Mike's comment ," I wasn't trying to be funny " Mike's says seriously, " I know bud I laughed cause I called her that same thing to her face"

Mike goes in the house and packs his. clothes and a few other things. once packed he grabs his stuff and heads out side " put it in the back of the van bud". so again as requested he put his bags go into the van we're Cindy was standing with the rear doors open waiting for Mike still half crying. Mike puts his things into the van and goes to return to the house " I wouldn't go in there mike" Sandy exclaims at the half way point across the drive way, Joe's heard aunt Sandy and comes out telling mike to wait in the van they will be leaving soon.

Mike returns to the van sadly, " Mike, I want you to know that you may be coming to live with us if your uncle Joe can get Cindy to agree to it until you father comes home" the while she is crying and wiping tears from her eye " then why are you crying aunt Sandy that's a good thing right?" Mike asked In return but confused by her emotions.

After what felt like hours Joe walks out of the house with a paper In his hand and returns to the van crying himself, " what did she say Joe!!" Sandy asked with intent " you don't wanna know hunny" Joe responds. He starts the van and drives away from the house but mike notices the he turns the wrong way for them to go home he turns opposite " uncle Joe why you going this way?" Mike asks with a scared sense in his voice " were going for lunch buddy I'm sure you left before lunch at school right ?" Mike nods yes still confused but knew there was a good restaurant in the direction they went, Mike just looks off across the fields of hay as the drive.

They pull of to the restaurant and park Mike and sandy go in for a table or so Mike thought he noticed Jo moved the van to a gas pump but no matter Mike was hungry him and sandy go food to go and went back to the van once back to the van uncle Joe looks at Mike and says " lil man I need to tell you something Cindy wants me to send you to your grandmother's in Pennsylvania and your father will come there as soon as he can" Mike at this point is looking at his uncle with angist cause he cannot remember a time his uncle has ever cried like this.

it was a three hour drive to the bus station in Bay City once there mike didn't know weather or no ty be happy to be rid of Cindy or scared that he won't be with his father but none the less he trusted his uncle and got in the bus to reading pa to be with his grandma trusting his uncle he gave him and aunt Sand a hug good by uncle Joe have him the last sixty he had in his wallet" this is for food keep it in your stuck unless you need it and don't let anyone see you take it out or put it away" Joe says with tears in his eyes " now young man you call me when you get there so we know you ok collect call if need be and don't be afraid to call in the trip if something happens ok" Sandy exclaims with that motherly tone , Mike responds after wiping tears and snot away " thank you so muchi love you both" they hugged , Mike got on the bus and that was the end of one life and the being of another as the bus left the city Mike had no clue what was going to happen just that he had to get to his grandma's.
