Lucas's POV
This mission feels strange, almost too easy. The resistance we encountered was nothing compared to the preparations we made. A few ATVs had arrived to transport the injured prisoners. Thankfully, none of my team members suffered serious injuries, which was a relief.
I looked around; everyone was ready to go. Those who didn’t have driving duties had already shifted into their wolf forms. I dropped my shorts to the ground because I didn’t want to return naked. Normally, I wouldn’t care—we’re used to nudity—but after meeting my mate, I only want her to see all of me.
I sighed. It’s frustrating to gamble on whether I can claim my own mate or not. I found her too late, and now she’s married to a man I may not even be able to challenge.
I tossed my shorts into the ATV with a bask
