Later that morning, I explained the previous night's little commotion to Bob. Lucien and Lucas have already headed back home for their pack duties.
"I saw Silas hurriedly leaving when I was coming in. Honestly, I hardly know anything—I swear!" he said.
"Of course you don't! If you knew Lucien was there, and saw me coming, you might mind-link to warn him. Then I wouldn’t have caught them in that position!" I replied, exasperated.
"Fair enough," Bob laughed.
"So, does Silas know about Lucien and Rose?"
"There's a good chance he does," Bob shrugged, then left to attend to a customer.
A few moments later, Silas arrived. He parked his bike, took off his helmet, and walked in. Usually cheerful, he looked downcast today.
"My Silas! What happened to your cute face? Come sit with me!" I patt
