I woke up when someone knocked on the door.
"Come in," Lucas answered in a husky voice, still half-asleep. I snuggled closer to him.
Rose walked in and sat at the corner of the bed, still wearing the clothes she had worn to campus earlier that morning. "Here are caramel apples for my niece and nephew!" she declared confidently, convinced my babies were a boy and a girl.
"Why didn't you ask me if you wanted some, hun? Anyway, thanks, Rose," Lucas scolded lightly, his voice still groggy.
"The babies wanted them from their aunt," I murmured. Rose laughed.
"It's okay, Luke. You’d better get used to Ester's quirks during this pregnancy. She was strange enough with her first one, and now, with twins, I'm sure she'll outdo herself," Rose teased.
