Chapter Two “Oh wow!” Sasha smiled from ear to ear. A delightful news appeared on her phone screen. “What’s that?” Lottie walked closer to her. Curious upon hearing her friend’s reaction. “The dean’s office will give me incentives,” Sasha responded. Lottie snatched the phone from her hand. Reading the school’s email sent to her. “You deserve it girl. Go get it!” she cheered, handing back the phone to her. “Thanks, Lottie. A week’s non-stop study paid off!” “Right! I witnessed how you worked hard there. Meanwhile, me, eh,” they laughed together. “Anyway, I’ll go ahead now. I texted Aries too, and we’ll meet at the café.” Lottie raised a brow. She hadn’t liked him, since their relationship began. “Oh—kay,” instead of saying something, she waved her hand and watched Sasha leave her. “When will she leave him?” Lottie asked in the air and left the classroom. As Sasha was near the dean’s office, she didn’t notice the bump on the pathway. Too busy sending her boyfriend a message. “Ahh!” she tripped. With eyes closed, she accepted her faith after hearing her phone being tossed on the floor. Yet, seconds passed. Sasha didn’t feel her face on the ground. “Huh?” she slowly opened her eyes. She’s bewildered. But it all makes sense after seeing a strong arm wrapped around her waist. Sasha looked behind her. Her jaw almost fell on the floor. It was a breathtaking view. He was a breathtaking view. “Are you alright?” the man asked, he just exited the dean’s office. Sasha was too stunned to speak. “Miss?” the man asked again. She shook her head. And looked away from him. Trying to hide her blushing face. “I-I’m good. T-Thank you, S-Sir!” she stammered. The man unlatched his arm after she stood properly. He watched her pick up her phone. Sasha glanced at him one more time. She felt embarrassed. The man was dressed properly in corporate attire. And he can smell his scent from afar. It was intoxicating in a good way. It adds to his overall appeal. The man noticed the c***k on her phone’s screen. “It’s damaged,” he said. His baritone voice sent shivers down her spine. The handsome Hispanic man walked closer to her. She can hear her heartbeat with her own ears. “Y-Yes,” Sasha swallowed a lump in her throat. She lifted her head. Just to look him in the face. He’s taller than her. “Watch where you’re going next time, okay?” he reprimanded. Amidst his deep voice, sincerity and concern overflow. And Sasha felt them all. And slowly nodded her head. “I-I will. I’m sorry,” she apologized. The man chuckled and smiled. Revealing his perfect teeth. “Don’t be,” he tapped her shoulders. “Just be extra careful next time. I might not be there to catch you when you fall,” he winked at her. And she watched him walk out. And went to the expensive car parked in the parking lot. Where a bodyguard opened the door for him. “Perfect for a sugar daddy,” she mumbled. Chuckling as she shook her head. It felt rewarding as the dean gave her incentives. “Keep up the good work, Sasha,” Dean Carl gave her the envelope with cash and a plaque. “Thanks, dean. This means a lot!” she said. She bid farewell to him. And was ready to meet her boyfriend. It’s been a week since they last saw each other. A tedious week. So, she called him. As Sasha was busy with her studies, Aries was also busy with his team. The upcoming school tournament is putting a lot of pressure on him. It would be a slap to his face if they broke their win streak record. Sasha headed to the cafeteria. The sun was striking hot in the afternoon. “Aries! Hi!” enthusiasm is audible in her tone. “Hey, babe. What’s up?” Aries responded. She heard heavy breaths on the other line. “I’m doing fine. Are you in the cafeteria right now?” she asked. “That’s a foul, Nick! Come on, man,” he clicked his tongue. Aries heaved a sigh. “Sorry, babe. Busy with practice,” he explained. “What did you say again?” he asked. Sasha stopped in her tracks. “Did you forget, didn’t you?” He was speechless. Silence fell upon them. She smiled meekly. “It’s alright,” she said. But deep inside, she was disappointed. “Oh, no, babe. Sasha, I-I —” Aries stopped talking as their coach yelled his name. “Aries Jones! In the field, now!” she interjected. “You go now, Aries!” “Coach John is not the one to wait,” she jokingly said. “I’m sorry, babe. I promise, I’ll make it up to you,” he reassured. She nodded her head even though he couldn’t see her. “Alright then, Aries. I love —” her sentence wasn’t finished as the line was cut off already. Her shoulders dropped. “You,” she continued. And turned around. And headed home. Sasha rode a cab. Staring outside the window. A restaurant caught her eye. “Wait!” she said. The driver stared back at her. “What is it?” “Can you drop me off at that restaurant, Sir?” she politely asked. “Okay,” the driver nonchalantly agreed. She paid him and left the car. Instead of going home directly, Sasha thought to celebrate. Regardless of being alone. As her hunger overpowers the sadness she felt. She ordered food and dined alone. Sasha sent a photo of her boyfriend of what she ordered. But moments passed, Aries didn’t seem to read it or respond to it. Savoring the last food that she ordered, which was a bowl of ice cream, Sasha suddenly recalled the handsome gentleman. Who prevented her from falling on the floor. Unconsciously, she closed her eyes. And imagined how he’d be as a boyfriend. With his fancy car. Charismatic smile, and his deep yet caring voice. “Ah!” she jolted. Returning back to her senses as the ice cream on his spoon dripped down her thigh. Sasha can’t stop thinking about him. The guy was perfect. Appearance-wise. Careerwise. Characteristic-wise. “The epitome of perfection,” she said to herself.
