The Very First Day of School

BEEP! BEEP! beep!!! beep!!! beep!!! The alarm clock is going off... The warm sunshine through the big black curtains of my huge Victorian oak glass windows goes out to my huge, wide porch that has an amazing view of the forest and a spiral staircase that goes down to the ground of the forest property. My bedroom was on the second floor, and I had a medium-sized balcony with a large spiral staircase leading down to the ground. I was lucky to have this room because it looked out into the beautiful forest and was right next to my little sister so that I could keep a close eye on that little spoiled troublemaker. My bedroom has a huge walk-in closet filled with a few different kinds of clothes and even girly-type clothes for extraordinary events such as weddings, parties, and that type of stuff. I am not really into dressing up, but I have because that is just the way my mother has made me do it since I was a child. The smell of the morning air after a good night of storming, the smell of wet leaves and tree bark, and the smell of a few different pounds and a hidden small type of lake all mixed up into one that makes you feel like you are right in the forest. You can smell it and feel it through your veins. Anyway, it was about the right time for the sun to shine through my windows, about the proper time to wake up and get ready for the first day of my junior year of high school. Since it stormed last night, I know my little sister must have crawled into my bed because she fears thunderstorms and cannot sleep in them without her family members nearby. I can feel her kicking and tumbling around, and her breathing and heartbeat picking up the pace after a thunderstorm. All I can hear and feel is my sister waking me up. "Charlie, Charlie, wake up; wake up; it's time to get ready; come on," she said, jumping up and down on the bed and doing it over and over. I said sleepily, "Give me five minutes, and I'll get up, okay, Hazel," I said sleepily as I awoke slowly. "Nope now, before you are late for school." I wish I could go to school with you, but I cannot, and my mother said last night she was making some chocolate chip pancakes," Hazel said while getting into bed and opening the window curtains to let in more light. "I am up, Jesh Haz; all right, I am getting up; just chill. "You better go take a shower; you smell gross, and I will meet you downstairs," I said while slowly getting out of bed and stretching my arms and legs. "Yay, see you in a bit; just don't take too long!" She said this while walking out of the room cheerfully and jumping with joy. As soon as I got up, I walked straight to my walk-in closet, which had two big brown oak doors with dark handles. I was looking around the huge closet for my favorite dark blue jeans with some holes, a red V-neck top, and black Converse shoes. A bit later, I took a nice hot shower and finished getting ready by brushing the tangles out of my long chocolate brown hair, finally dressing for the day. I begin to quickly clean my bedroom and bathroom, making sure there is nothing on the floor before my mother goes insane if there is anything on the floor. It took me about ten minutes before I finally got to leave my bedroom. I grabbed my book bag and iPhone and read with a writing tablet that is two things in one: a type of computer and a few other things for the day. When I got downstairs to the kitchen, I could see my brother eating like two big football players that had just gotten out of practice. My sister, brother, and our best friends, who are siblings as well, were laughing at the two big-fat cows known as the guys while my mom was making more food because they were eating it. I join in by throwing my book bag down on my chair and begin to eat as well. About thirty minutes later, it was time to leave for our first day of school. I mean, it is nice to get back to school and get to see your friends and teachers, but it is like a whole different world. Anyways, Kaylie, my sister Hazel, and I got into her brand-new black Mustang and started to drive down the long driveway while my brothers Colton, Troy, and Max followed in his red Jeep. Kay and I had to drop off my sister Hazel and little brother Max at middle school while the guys went to go pick up some of their guy friends from the football team. It was not a problem to drop her off since she was on her way. About ten minutes later, we arrived at Hazel's school. I cannot believe it is her last year of middle school, which is a huge relief because she does get to go to school with some kids from the pack and not by herself. We said our byes for the day and watched her run to her friends, throw the car windows, and then drive off to our school. Today is our first day of the junior year, while our brothers are now seniors. Kaylie drove right to her parking spot and turned off the car to wait for the guys. We waited for a few minutes and saw Colton's red Jeep pull up and park right next to us. We all got out of our cars and started to walk to the front door of our school. Everyone wanted to be us because we were the top of the pack, the biggest and strongest pack in the country. Everyone knows us; some people think we like the royal family and even own the country. We do not, but our dads are the two highest council leaders. We can get anything we want, but I am not a spoiled Daddy's girl like Kaylie and Hazel. I like the unusual people the girls are. They are more tomboyish than they are, but hey, I like being myself and not changing who I am no matter what. My brother, Colton, is the quarterback of our high school's all-state football team. Troy and Max are the half and full backs, more like the first and second, and they take the biggest and hardest hits. It is a good thing that there are werewolves. Kaylie and I are the co-captioning duo for all state cheerleading. She made me cheer with her. I had no choice, but I do not mind dancing. With my clumsiness, I'm surprised I'm good at cheer; I'm just glad I didn't do anything stupid in a game cheer. I cannot imagine what I will do if that happens during a huge game like the playoffs. I would be embarrassed to run and hide somewhere and never come out. Kaylie parked her brand-new black Mustang in our spot while my brother Colton pulled up in his spot with his old, dirty, muddy truck. I'm not sure why he just buys a new one when it's not that difficult to find one. We got out of our cars and started to walk up towards our group that was waiting for us to get here by a huge tree, and that was our spot. When I was on the last step of the stairs, Leah jumped onto my back while Noah and her twin brother popped out of nowhere and yelled loud and fast. Both scared the hell out of me and almost made me trip right onto my stomach while stepping on the top step. I have no idea why they wanted to scare me so badly, but it worked. Holy howls. I swear it will be some fun payback if they do that one more time. Everyone was ready for this day to get over and get home, so we could have a group run. It has become a tradition for us to run on the first or last day of school. The school bell rang exactly at eight o'clock, telling us that school is now in session and ready to kick off the school year. We started to walk to our homeroom, thankful we were all assigned the same room for the first week of school. Then I guess there will be no more homeroom, and that sucks. At least we all get to have lunch and some classes together. Speaking of classes, I am hoping to take one advanced art class and improve my artistic abilities. The homeroom teacher, Ms. I do not know her name since I was not paying any attention. She was passing out our class schedules in alphabetical order and talking to some other students about theirs. Finally, I got mine. I quickly scanned mine, and yes, I got the classes I wanted, even in the art class too. I am so happy that I could just get up and dance. I do not care what people say; I am good at it. The morning was slow, even for the classes that I have, like science, math, and social studies, and even some classes that I never really care about, like computers. It is lunch. Thank God, I am hungry. Of course, I am a werewolf. I can eat twice as much as a human. Before I could go to lunch, I had my new favorite class and my art advanced class. I was so happy that I would have skipped down the halls and sang. Yes, I am off to an impressive place where I can bring myself to imagine the world living peacefully. When I entered the class, I felt like I was in heaven. This is where I belong. Welcome home, Charlie. HA! I wish that could happen. Anyways, I found an empty desk, took it out of my sketchbook, and started to draw more on my wolf drawing for my little sister while listening to music on my iPhone, blocking out the world so I could be in mine. Suddenly, I was pulled out of my little world and felt someone's hand on my neck while pulling my earphones out of my ears. How rude! I mean, I do not do that to people. Some people these days do not know how to be polite. I turn my head to the left when the pencil in my hand looks like I am about to kill someone. I quickly put it down since this guy's face looked like he was about to pee himself. Who are we to laugh? Oh man, I wish that would happen. Next time, he is hot with those green-blue eyes and a dark guy with medium-length hair, whose bangs almost cover his eyes and his perfect face. Yes, that is appealing, and I would be mortified to the point where I would hide. He sat right next to me on the desk that was right next to me. Oh my God, I need to cool my tail. It is just a boy, but a dreamy, delicious one. "Yo, wolf girl, that's a nice drawing, and that's good; you should become an artist," he said, leaning over my desk to get a better look. His cologne smells good, like he is in some type of heat. He smells like a guy's ax and a bit of a guy's smell. "Umm... Not to yourself, but nice Batman drawing. "You should draw more superheroes, oh, and get some bad guys as well," I said as I stared at his drawing. I cannot stop looking at him. My wolf was starting to kick in. She was getting turned on or something by him. "You are right; I will." Oh, I am Alecx. "What is your name?" He said in a husky, sexy voice, "I am about to purr like a cat that had his lip curled up into a ball, and he was rubbing my belly as I lay flat on my back with my arms and legs stretched out." "I'm Charlie." Yes, I know I have a guy's name. My dad called me. "My brother Colton, who calls me Char for short, does not mind it at all," I said, trying to keep my wolf calm by mentally slapping her in the face and pushing her down. "Sweet, your name fits your pretty little wolf-like drawing," he said while looking at the front of the room like something was about to start. Who knows what kind of trouble? So, umm, Alecx, why are you here in this art class? "Are you not supposed to be in the auto or gym?" I asked while closing my sketchbook. "I will have that after lunch at the auto gym." "What about you?" He said and whipped his head in my direction and looked at me like I had just set him to turn on like a fire in a fireplace. "I have that too, so I guess we are going to be in the same classes and even have lunch together," I quickly said before the art teacher started the class. "Hello, my fellow artists! On everyone's desks is the information about this class, with the agenda and other things we need to do today. If anyone has any questions, let me know right away. Oh, and my name is Ms. Knightly. You can call me Ms. K if you want. So, let me tell you about myself. I love art. That is why I am teaching it. I just moved here with my handsome son, a daughter, and my stunning husband. I have heard a lot about this town, Mystic Falls; I know the history and that stuff. So, let us get this class started today. "I would like to see everyone's art ability by drawing something and anything you want to express yourselves while I finish my painting," she said while talking to the whole class in the front by sitting on her desk cross-legged. Oh, my craziness. Oh, yes, he and I started talking and even showing each other's artwork until the class was over, which flew by. He said he had lunch, auto, and gym classes just like me. I guess this should be fun and remarkably interesting. Alecx offered to walk me to lunch. I was not sure if I was okay since my overprotective brother told me he would always drop me off and pick me up at my classes for some reason. My phone quickly vibrated. It was a text message from my brother saying he was sorry and asking if I could make it to lunch by myself since he had a challenging time talking to the school office about getting his classes switched to mine. I texted him back to say it was fine and to ask to see him at the table because he has a copy of all my classes, including AP ones. I told Alecx it was fine and if he wanted to sit with us, I thought, and I wanted to be polite and not mean or anything. He gladly accepted my invitation for lunch, which made me smile. Oh no, I hope I am not blushing because that would be weird, like I have a crush on him. Anyway, when the bell rang to let out the class, Alecx took my extra books into his hands, so I had no trouble with them. I told him I could take them, which is an extra few pounds, but he insisted, so I gave up. We walked down the hallway side by side every few minutes. Our shoulders touched. It made me feel like I had an electric fire running through my body. It was weird but felt exactly right, and it was an amazing feeling. I had never felt this before. I heard it was one of those signs that you are going to be mated or near your mate. It cannot be true. I mean, he smells just like a human, but he had this tattoo on his right wrist that looked like a bow and arrow, like a hunting type of tattoo. If he were my so-called "mate," I would be in so much trouble. If he were then, oh jesh, I know I would not keep my wolf self in control. Everything about him would make me drool like a lost puppy who saw a dog bite for the first time in a long time: his eyes, hair, lips, six-pack abdominal muscles, and more. I know I cannot stop thinking about him, smelling his scent around the school, and feeling him around me when I know he is not there, and it is driving me crazy. I mean, I would want to jump on him right this second and make him all mine.
