Mr. Walter is from a small town in Nigeria. She has six children. The first child's name was Faith, the second one was called God's power, the third one was called Nathan, The fourth child's name was Favor, the fifth child's name was Mira and the last child's was Gift. She has been the only one raising the children ever since her husband was sentenced to life imprisonment. Mira was only five years old when it happened. She was sent on an errand by her father one evening, seeing that Mira hadn't come back after 2 hours. he decided to go search for her, getting to the place Mira was supposed to buy what he had sent her. He asked the woman if she had seen his child. She told him that she had long bought it and left for home. He became furious and started searching for Mira, getting to a corner where he heard her voice screaming for help. He followed the voice and found his daughter pinned to the ground, he found a grown boy trying to force himself on Mira. He didn't have the time to shout or call for help, he saw a big stick close to him, he quickly picked it up and hit the boy on the head, and quickly push him aside and took Mira away without looking back, days later he was took to the police station for questioning but he denied it saying he did not no the boy or anything related to what happen to the boy, Mrs. Walter was 7 months pregnant.
One cold morning when they were still in bed they heard a knock on the door and asked her first child Faith to check who was at the door, when she opened it was police men, they asked her to call her parent which she did, they police men showed him their search warrant and began searching for anything that will implicate he, when they found nothing they still took him to the station based on information the matter to charged to court and he was found guilty, the judge sentenced him to life imprisonment on parole, this scattered Mrs. Walters heart and hated Mira for that, say if she was smart enough she wouldn't have be kidnapped by the boy. Thinking about her husband everyday made her to go into early labor for her sixth child Gift. Mrs. Walter hated Mira day by day and refuse to let her continue school. After lot of thinking she decided to send Faith, God's power and Gift to her mother's place and decided to take care of Mira and Gift herself, Mira went through a lot because of the incident she could no longer speak freely, play freely or go to school like her peers, but after so many persuasion from Mira's grandmother, Mrs. Walter decided to enroll Mira in a public school, she didn't go to school like the other kids, she would go late to school without bathing properly, with no shoes and a tour uniform like that of a rage, her mother was cruel to her, at her very tender age she has learnt to be alone do things herself without no one asking or showing concern, she became used to it, life now meant nothing to her, she would cook, sweep, clean, wash her mother's cloth and her younger sisters cloth. At times she's given pap to sell on the street before going to school and if she could not finished it she won't eat or go to school that very day, she hated her self, her life and blame herself everyday for what happened to her father thought it was not her fault but her mother didn't want to listen or believe what really happened, Mira was her father's favorite child, Mrs. Walter thought her husband had loved Mira more than her, Mira keep going and pushing life till she turned 16, she was about to write her high school Final exams, she had no money, she went to her mom asking for the money which she refuse and told her to look at her mate and do what they are doing to get money, Mira was not that type of girl she was respected and love by people for being humble and kind unlike her younger sister Gift, who has no respect, she would insult both the old and young, she was selling her usual morning pap when she saw a boy not small but matured tall black fine boy, his name was kelvin he called her bought pap from her, after buy he asked her what her name which Mira told him, he asked her if they could be friends and she accepted, every morning he would buy pap from her, something he would even followed her to sell the pap and they became good friends, she told him about her exams and he offered to help her, he gave her the money and she enrolled for her exams. Mrs. Walter never noticed her smile, when she is happy sad or angry, and Mira never told her about the boy because she was scared and didn't want to get into trouble, they kept seeing each other every morning and gradually they became lover, after Mira finished her exams, her mom told her to start hawking on the street to provide for her and her younger sister, but Mira had other plans for herself, she wanted to go further with her education, she want to have a good work not hawking on the street, she told kelvin about what her mother had said and he opposed it saying he would look for money for her, Mira thought she has finally found someone who would genuinely love her but she got it all wrong, he didn't love her as much as she thought, but she never knew about his intentions, she loved him for loving him. Kelvin told Mira to come over to his place and stayed with him, she refused saying she was too young for that, Mira didn't know that her younger sister has been noticing her movement for months now and she reported her to her mother. One morning as Mira was going to sell pap as usual, she didn't know her mom was following her, when she got to kelvin's place, she dropped her tray of pap and went inside that was when her mother came out and went straight to the room dragged Mira out and started beating her, people gathered and started asking questions, Mira found the opportunity and ran away
