Amira ran out from the compound and hide in an uncompleted building, she cried not know what to do next, if she goes back home to her mother she would not spare her and if she goes to stay at kelvin's place she might get pregnant and gives birth at her young age. She finally decided to go back to her mother, when she enter their compound she peep through the window to know if her mom was home and when she saw no one she ran immediately into her room, few how later her mom came home to find out that Amira's slippers was at the door so she opened it and meant Amira sleeping, Mrs. Walter took a cup of cold water and pour it on her as she was sleeping, Amira jumped out of the bed not knowing what to do. Mrs. Walter pinned her to the ground and beat her till she was not able to move again, Amira fainted and Mrs. Walter left her there unattended to, she went and called Amira elder siblings and told them that Amira has a boyfriend and she has been sleeping there for days she didn't come back home and on getting there Amira insulted her and even asked the boy to beat her. Not know how many hours has passed Amira wake up with pains all over her body, she couldn't get up from the ground she was just there asking herself questions of her existence, her younger sister came up to her and ask her to come prepare food for her that she was hungry, Amira begged Gift to please give her time that her body ache but rather faith went straight to her mother and told her that Amira refused to give her food to eat, Mrs. Walter went to the room where Amira was and beat her up again and ordered her to go prepare their food, Amira regret the day she was born, from that day henceforth she was forbidden to go near kelvin or go close to the compound. Few day later her elder siblings came home and without asking questions they beat her up calling her a disgrace and bringing misfortune to the family, her elder sister Faith told her that it was because of her that made their father to be in Jail for 14 years and she still have the mind to follow boys, even went as far as to beat their mothe, her two elder brothers God's Power and Nathan didn't spare her as well they called her names and beat her non stop, Amira was tired of her family treatment towards her and ran to kelvin's house, when kelvin saw the marks on her body he was touched and decided to help her. Mrs. Walter came with the police to Kelvin's house, saying that kelvin kidnapped her, Amira came out and told the police with trembling voice but steady that kelvin didn't not kidnapped her she came to his house willingly, that was how the police left her there, Mrs. Walter disowned Mira and told her not to ever call her mother ever again, her siblings said the same thing and left her there.
In a very cracked and rough environment was Amira living with kelvin in a one room apartment, at first kelvin treated her well, he registered her in a fashion designer store as an apprentice, there she was trying to fix her life, Amira was very happy with kelvin, she thought to herself he teates her well and does not beat or shout at her like her mother does. Mira was very happy learning her work but the joy didn't last long, few months on Mira became sick, at first it was just headache and morning sickness, she didn't think much about it, she thought maybe it was just fever or malaria, she was always tired at most cases she feels like throwing up, kelvin took Mira to the hospital the day she faint, when they got to the hospital, the doctor told Kelvin that Mira was pregnant and she was two months gone. They were both shocked Mira never expected it to happen so quick, kelvin was angry and sad at the same time, when they got home kelvin slapped Mira for the first time and asked her why she didn't take pills immediately after s*x, why didn't she ask questions from her friend if she has any and asked her to terminate the pregnancy, Mira was confused and told him that she don't know any pill to take. Kelvin left the house and went straight to the pharmacy and bought her some pills, when he got home he apologized to Mira saying it was a mistake and he didn't mean to hit her, he said he was confused and didn't know what to do since he does not have a good job at the time, yes kelvin has no work, he stays at home all day doing nothing but relia on his mother and siblings for money, he was a stubborn child, he disrespect his mom all the time but Mira didn't know about it because she don't know his family, kelvin came from a rich family of 3, he was the first born of his mother, kelvin, victory and grace where the children of Mr. and Mrs. Okoro, they were average rich and they have always provided for their three kids, kelvin refusal to go to school made them angry and they allowed him to live his life the way he wanted that if he gets tired he would come back home. Mira accepted the apology and forgave him, she took the drugs and few hours later she bleed and was rushed to the hospital where they remove the remaining fetus. She went through pain but kelvin didn't care, he only cared if the abortion was a success. When they got home kelvin's behavior towards her changed, he no longer cared about her and do things his own way, he started beating her at any given opportunity, whenever he want to be intimate with her, he no longer asked politely but with force, Mira was confused on how and why he had changed so suddenly.
