1703 Words

Noah’s POV We’re in the bakery, Mackenzie is filling the counter with fresh cakes whilst Arelia mans the till, serving customers. Daisy and I are seated at one of the tables, Callan across from us, the former playboy smiling down at his adoptive son Maxton as the little boy colours in a picture with markers. ‘How did you wangle the day off as well?’ I ask curiously, surprised that he’s not at the office as Harrison and Eden are still on their honeymoon. The millionaire shrugs, ‘I was ordered not to come in’ he replies, ‘Gage said I deserved some time off . . .’ ‘No, Gage said he couldn’t deal with you any longer and if you came anywhere near him today he would get Hallick to execute you and hide your body’ Mackenzie retorts as she approaches, a plate of shortbread cookies in her hands
