Abbey’s POV Pain, that’s the first thought that comes into my head as I swim toward the surface of the darkness that is holding me captive. Everything hurts, and I don’t know why. I try to speak, my throat is so dry, I need water, but I can’t seem to make my mouth form words. I must make some sort of noise though, because I hear a sharp scraping sound of metal as it is pushed across the floor, seconds before something round and plastic is pressed to my dry, cracked lips. I wrap my lips around it eagerly, sucking as soothing liquid enters my mouth. I try to gulp down the water but my throat won’t work properly and I end up choking, the straw being whipped away quickly, as I’m tilted up slightly, the pain radiating through my body, as I feel something soft dab at my chin. ‘It’s OK kitten,
