'Luke tried to reason with her, begged her to think of Maxton, he needed his mother, but she just couldn’t do it. She’d promise to quit, but the draw was too strong, I think she had demons behind her that even Luke didn’t know about, and the drugs numbed her pain.
When Maxton was four months old, our mother was rushed to the ER with pain in her side, they thought it might be her appendix. Luke demanded that Summer stay home, and care for their son while he went to the hospital to meet us.
Summer wasn’t happy, she wanted to go out, and they fought before Luke stormed out of the house leaving Maxton with her.’
