Callan’s POV I glance up at the clock on the far wall for what feels like the millionth time in the last five minutes. I can’t concentrate, I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Mackenzie said the L word, nor can I ignore the fact that I’m not balled up in terror about it. OK, she backtracked, but did she mean that? Or was she trying to cover up what she let slip because she was embarassed? And why am I not freaking out about it? I laugh humourlessly, oh I’m freaking out, but not in the way I should be, more freaking out over not understanding what the hell she meant before she ceremoniously shoved me out of her bakery and ran through to the back.
