Chapter Five

1648 Words
The day after the ceremony my training started. It was the worst day of my life. The training at the camp was so intense. We were asked to do heaving lifting and frog jumps immediately we got to camp at five in the morning then we proceed to hand to hand combat then sword fighting which would last for hours. By the time it was dark and the training ended my whole body would ached everywhere. What made it even worse was that I had to have a personal training with Aunt Madison. She said I couldn't train and learn the rest of my powers in the camp because they must stay hidden else I would be in danger. According to her it was one of the reasons why I was brought here. Who knew awakening my powers would be so stressing and amazing. My other powers are not out yet they keep flashing but Aunt Madison reassured me that they would reveal themselves soon. Sadly that was my routine every day. Another load to my stressful days was that, I have to endure insults from a girl named Ana in warrior camp; she makes sure that she bullies me with her best friend Katie ever since I started my training. And I would be happy if anyone tells me why hate me so much. Valarie once told me Ana was rumored to be sleeping with the king and that's why she does whatever she likes and goes to the palace after training. Or maybe she's jealous because I'm a better fighter even though I'm a newbie. Who knows? "Everyone, round up," Commander Richard ordered. It was my fourth week in Dicastro and I still hate this mans gut, whenever he's in camp he either glares at me or he makes my life hell by taking over my training with Knight Gwen. "In two weeks," his grouchy voice began. "A tournament would be held here at the royal palace to reward hard working warriors." This brought up a lot of murmurings and cheers. "I won't mention the prize but its something worthy for the winner." "Wow! That's so cool," Nate said beside me, everyone else had the same reaction as Nate. "So get prepared, train as hard as hard as you can and be rewarded." "Ahh, that prize is gonna be mine," Ana cooed wither best friend nodding in agreement. "Of course it would be." Katie added. Somewhere else "We've found her milord, she's back in Dicastro." A middle aged man with heavy metal adorned all over him knelt in front of his master. Although his whole body aches from the message his master sent him, he had to endure it or else its beheading for him. "Well, well that witch proved herself this time." The master replied from where he laid holding a cigar in one hand and alcohol in the other with half naked ladies surrounding him. "Another news milord, I heard there would be a tournament in Dicastro in the next two weeks and she would be one of the participants." Three ghost like figures stood at the corner of the throne room floating in their mysterious self, their eyes where in the same shade of red with very pale looking skin and veins all over their faces. "My lord." The fates began in an eerily scary voice that whispered supernatural power to those who listen to their voices. "Everything would go out fine if you capture her unaware and drain her spirit slowly, now that she's older she won't die but her body would be walking around like a lost soul." The figures rasped with their eyes glowing at the same time. "Yes, you are right, that's a good idea. Its time to pay Dicastro and Keng a little visit." Their Master spoke with menace in his eyes. In Dicastro "Aah," I stretched my hands into my pocket while dreaming of how soft and comfortable my bed was. Dang it! Not again I groaned, this is the GA zillionth time I misplaced the house key and Aunt Madison is not around this time to open it. I stomp my foot on the ground, growling as I made my way back to the camp; hoping to find the key there. "I'm sorry Sir Dimitri, I lost my key again and I hope to find it here." The old man smiled showing his slightly yellow teeth. Sir Dimitri was and old man in his late sixties and the keeper of the camp's gate. We got really close recently because of the key issue, I still don't know how the key always get lost and I really tried not to misplace it today. "No problem kiddo make sure you don't get caught, you know its against the rules to be here after training." "Yes, I know thank you!" "Make sure you take a torch when you get in!" "Yes, I would!" I ran into the camp fields with the wooden torch trying to stay awake and yawning repeatedly. I didn't even know how long I was in the camp fields searching for the key aimlessly. Then my eyes caught something an object glinting in the wet grass. 'The house key!' I smiled in victory, at last. Picking it up, I turned to leave when I heard a familiar and annoying voice and another familiar voice. I stood frozen, 'oh, no, I'm going to get caught.' I ran behind a wooden cart with brown sacks on it hitting the torch in my hands on the wet grass to get rid of the light. "Honey, why don't we stay at the castle?" 'Isn't that Ana? What's she doing here?' "I just felt like coming here but I don't know why." 'That voice I've heard it before.' I gasped, 'no it can't be!' I stood up to peek at Ana and her- 'It's the king! So the rumors were true!' I opened my mouth wide in disbelief, although I've never seen the king's face but I could recognize those boots anywhere. There are no specific designs, writings or carvings on them but I could recognize the owner. Their backs were facing where I was hiding. They were both wrapped in black clothing with a torch on the kings right hand, and his left hand held Ana's hand. "You wanted to tell me something while we were coming here." The king continued. "Yes, its about this girl who just started here some weeks ago and she's acting like a queen here and its getting on my nerves. Can you please help me get rid of her? I don't want her here, she bothers me a lot." That b***h, "I get rid of you first." I mumbled in anger. "How could she lie against me, acting like a queen? She's the one bitching around here!" "Who's behind that cart, come out now!" The king commanded. Wow. His voice was scary. I stilled in fear, I just got caught, I'm in deep s**t right now; how did he hear me, I'm sure I didn't say those words out loud. I was conflicted, should I run away or should I reveal myself and face the consequences? Choosing the latter, I stood up; shaking like a leaf, my heart beat escalated when I caught the eyes of the king. "Seriously? What are you doing here?" Ana sneered. Um... well I... lost my key and I thought to come lo...look for it here." Don't get me wrong I didn't stutter because of Ana's question, NO...never! It was the king's stare that had me jumble my words like an i***t. His stare was so intense it made me so nervous, it would have been better if my heart wasn't running a marathon and a shrill didn't run down my spine or if I didn't feel hot and cold at the same time. "Why do I feel like I've seen you somewhere before," the king bent his head slightly with a frown. "Come out here." I took a deep breath to calm my senses but they refused to listen and went haywire the more I got close to him. Then the feeling stopped immediately he faced Ana. I sighed mentally looking at the king's face closely. He was right we've seen each other before; I opened my eyes wide, he was that jerk that pushed me down the day before I came to Dicastro! I could never forget that scar on his face. The king had a smirk on his face like he could hear what I was thinking of. "Ana leave...now!" He roared. "What...but...but we just got here." She argued. "I said leave Ana." The king snapped. "Fine." With a glare directed towards me she left the field. I didn't even pay her any attention my problems were much bigger than hers. I insulted this man in my territory few weeks ago like no tomorrow and we met again in his territory. But for my luck he was a king in his territory and I'm a nobody. After Ana left the king faced me and my whole senses went haywire again and I avoided his eyes. Look at me. He rasped his voice was soft and smooth, I felt so entranced in his voice. A shot of excitement went through me when he touched my face. I've never felt like that before. How would I know when I've never dated anyone before. He walked closer to me that I could feel his hot breath on my face, his scent filled my senses I couldn't even describe or point a finger to his intoxicating cologne at the moment but it was nerve breaking. His fingers travelled down my shoulders to my arm leaving goose bumps all over. "You're so beautiful, I should have appreciated it when we met on the side walk." I gasped He... Actually... Remembered...
