I should go back

339 Words
Dusk blinked his eyes and focused on the scantron he was filling out. He thought back to the night before and a smile spread across his face. It was one of those memories that was impossible to forget. It had been a hot summer night and he had been feeling restless. He had been thinking of his crush, his teacher Dawn, and debating whether or not he should sneak out and try to see her. Finally, he had decided to go. He had snuck out of his house and started the long walk to Dawn's house. The whole way, he was filled with anticipation and excitement. When he arrived, he was both nervous and excited. He slowly approached the door and knocked. His heart was pounding. When the door opened, there was Dawn. Dusk couldn't believe his eyes. She was just as beautiful as he remembered. Dawn was shocked to see Dusk standing there. He explained his actions and she welcomed him in. She invited him to sit and talk with her. They talked for hours about anything and everything. Dusk had never felt so connected to someone. It was like they were the only two people in the world. The conversation eventually wound down and it was getting late. Dusk was about to leave when Dawn grabbed his hand and said, 'Just one more thing.' She leaned in and kissed him lightly on the lips. Dusk was in shock but managed to say, 'I'll never forget this night.' Dawn smiled and said, 'I know.' Dusk slowly walked home, his head in the clouds. He had never felt so alive. Back in the present, Dusk shook his head in disbelief. The memory was like a dream but he knew it was real. He smiled and kept filling out his scantron. He knew the exam was important, but his mind kept wandering back to that night. He could still feel the warmth of the kiss and the intimacy of the moment. He knew it was something he would never forget.
